TVs have scalers as well .. to see a difference between a good TV scaling and an external scaler this must be some $1000+ pro-scaler

They could have at least bothered to fake some decent pictures. The side by side comparison shows virtually no difference.
If Wii games look like crap on your HDTV, you have a crappy cheap-ass TV, FACT.
Good TVs can do 480p just fine and don't have any trouble upscaling and downscaling resolutions.

Your right it was S-Video.
It's just that simple.
I still don't see the point of this device when I can get pretty much the same effect with a simple component video cable, component-to-VGA adapter, and setting my Wii to 480p. I spent all of $15 or $20 on that, and get very nice video from it. Why would I ever want to pay 4 to 5 times that just to get something only marginally better at best?

So, what exactly does that do? Is it upscaling, too? Does that really improve the picture quality by any significant amount? As in noticeably better than 480p component-only? 'Cos if so, I might consider buying one of those component-to-VGA adapters myself.

Why are people complaining about bad graphics on Wii games on big screens? beacuse on my screen it looks pretty damn good and I can asure you that I play on a screen bigger then what 99% of you play on
