Hyper PlayStation asked the staff why they decided to announce Versus as a part of Final Fantasy XIII and not as a brand new Final Fantasy XIV. The concept and thinking behind Versus would not be possible in a standard numbered Final Fantasy title, Nomura responded. However, Kitase jumped in, assuring that Versus is not just a side-story, as it has some of what makes a numbered FF game what it is. However, he added, "With Versus, we are trying out a type of adventure that we couldn't do in the numbered series."

FFXIII changed rather alot for a main numbered FF as it is, i think we can handle the innovatons Versus thorws our way.

yes, I'm guessing pretty much the same as FFXIII's opening week too, it doesn't seem like a spin off at all.

First a request: because we use roman numerals in the FF series, and many other series, CAN WE NOT make "Versus" into an acronym. It can be rather confusing at times. I guess I'd accept FFV XIII, but I'd rather FF Versus XIII.

OT: Anyways I don't think it should have too many issues, but once again this is an MMO and I'm not sure how popular those are over in Japan. So not well versed on that subject to really give an accurate answer, but at first glance I would think it would be able to.

Well if Versus XIII provides us with Gameplay like this or BETTER it won't really matter, it will just be really fun and badass.

I think it could do better LT than FFXIII. But in first week I don't think it could reach FFXIII sales...
