Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Red Steel 3 info???

cool

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

They've said before that Red Steel 3 depends on the success of Red Steel 2. But I don't buy that one bit. They're going to abandon a sword fighting franchise now that motion is the new standard? Red Steel 3 will most likely be a multiplat game.

I doubt that, Jason Vandenberghe has emphazised Red Steel as a Wii franchise, and that they wouldn't bring Red Steel 2 to other platforms for this reason. Most likely they will probably create a new franchise with lots of blood and gore if they go PS360, or maybe that's just me. I still like the RS2 approach better though.

Of course it's a Wii franchise right now, since the Wii is the only console that can offer it. But once motion is the new standard, Ubisoft would have no inherent reason to keep it exclusive to a single console. It's possible that sales of the next generation consoles might play out in a way where it makes sense to release it as an exclusive (if one console takes the early lead like the PS2 did).

I guarantee we'll see sequels on more than just the Wii.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

It was emphasized as a Wii franchise with regards to Red Steel 2 being ported to PS3 with Move controls. I certainly think Ubisoft can move it to other consoles in later generations, but I don't think we will see a Red Steel game on other consoles than Nintendo's this generation.

I actually see it. -_-

Unfortunately  he doesn't call the shots. If Ubisoft decide to make it multiplatform (PS Move) there's nothing he can do.

Also, unfortunately it'll sell better.

Vitality Sensor == Good idea
Vitality Sensor as something to add to your finger == sucks.

I don't think the VS will do very well, but for some of the games it comes out for that is done well. I'm sure will be something remarkable. Imagine a game that matches perfectly to the thrill level of your experience.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

je pense qu'il repondait simplement a SI un troisieme Red Steel serait fait, pas que ceci est deja en production

I can't say whether or not Red Steel 2 will get the No More Heroes treatment. But as for 3. I doubt we'd even see that this gen anyways. Might make for a good launch title with the next gen systems though.

rs3 is to soon and it might not come to the wii for all we know

Okay, we should stop arguing, because my argument just went to hell. I would love to eat crow on this one, oh my god Ubisoft! Bring me a Red Steel game for the Move!
