Forums - Sony Discussion - When will most games use PS3 as lead development console?

Drakes fortune actually does look better then Gears of War 2(which is the 360s best looking game) thelensoftruth did a comparison.

Ω GOD OF WAR 3 Ω God of War 2 was better then the first one! *Waits for the flames*

The graphics are exactly the same, its in your head that PS3 has better graphics.

Uncharted 2 , Killzone 2, GOW 3 are way ahead of anything on the 360.

Yeah because Xbox 360 games look like Halo 1 while PS3 games look like Crysis on max.

/Sarcasm

I'm going to assume you've never played those games because if you have, then you would know that they, on a graphics perspective, are better than pretty much anything on the 360 so far.....its obvious

I have and Killzone 2 is the best looking out of those 3 listed and their not "Way ahead"..

Killzone 2 is not the best, it does a really good job with particle effects and lighting, but overall Uncharted 2 wins. I've never played GoWIII yet so I can't say if that's better then Uncharted 2. But out of all the PS3 games I own Uncharted 2 beats everything with graphics.

Doesn't matter anyway, I'm pretty sure Heavy Rain beats all.

While I will agree with the other 3 games, am I the ONLY one that thinks Heavy Rains graphics were way over rated.  I loved the game, loved the story, loved the characters... but the graphics seemed way over hyped to me.

Depends on which publisher/developer you're talking about. Some are doing that already, some have no plan to.

Fail. Its pretty clear your an xbox fanboy you cant say anything unless you own a ps3.

I assume your talking to me.

I own a PS3 and Gears of war 2 looked good for when it came out but Mass Effect 2 owns the graphics crown IMO.

@Bob_loblaw

I played the demo of HR and it looked good but not the amount of graphical awesomeness you would expect.

Have you never noticed the differences in Burnout Paradise on the PS3 and 360?

Lazy Developing? Yes.

Huge GPU differences? No.

Heavy Rain wasn't even that impressive.  There were some great fantastic looking parts, but when you're game is worrying only about playing animations in small to medium vignettes, it's pretty to understand why it looks like it does.  If it had to worry about the things every other game has to worry about, it would have to sacrifice.

As for the topic, when you develop solely for one platform it will of course look impressive on that platform, otherwise, there's virtually no difference between the two so it doesn't matter.  You will never see a game that looks like God of War 3 on the PS3 and then like Halo 2 on the 360 so spouting off a bunch of high end exlusives just makes you (not you Gilgamesh specically, the general you) just look silly.

Your overall posting attitude reveals you to be having an inferiority complex with regards to the debate of X360 vs PS3. It's very sad... I suppose that's what happens to people who associate too much with a gaming console rather than liking games in general... :)

Even I have tried uncharted 2 and Mass Effect 2... And Uncharted 2 murders Mass Effect 2. It is very unfortunate that the Devs were not allowed to develop a superior version of the game for the PC like they did with Mass Effect 1. The reason why is obvious but I won't say it.

I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!

Oh yeah, you should see my huge stack of games, and my hundred hours of countless RPG's. I play games all the time 24/7.

Fact is i hate just about every game coming out on all Systems, there are good games but few.

The hole graphic debate is down to opinion.
