Forums - Sales Discussion - Miyamoto: Wii enhancements coming for hardcore gamers

http://www.infendo.com/2007/04/miyamoto-wii-enhancements-coming-for.html "I prepared myself for the possibility that Wii might face an uphill battle in America, so to see that it has become this big of a hit is something t I wasn't particularly expecting... There are other enhancements to the Wii interface and developments being planned that are going to really make games for hardcore players a lot more fun and interesting... A lot of people have the misunderstanding that Nintendo is not interested in network gaming."

Improvement in online gaming? Isn't Japan getting a Wii version that has some kind of dvd player add on or something. I hate all the add on content. Just release Brawl that has good online gaming and I'll be happy. I have to challenge BenKenobi.

As a guess I would say he is talking about Wii channels ...

An encouraging statement from Miyamoto. I certainly understand Nintendo being overwhelmed with the success they've had recently, and I'm fine to wait patiently as more improvements and online gameplay come around. And diamuerto, you're going down...don't think you can take on Samus...or my Mii if they have Miis playable *crosses fingers*

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I won't be one to utilize online functions, but I hope for others sake that they improve as Miyamoto says they will. :)

Woah! As I posted this it looks like the beta just went up for the site, SCHWEET JOB ioi! :)

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Sounds nice. I just hope the new functionality gets rid of the code system. Maybe add it to the parental controls. Either turn it on for your Wii or off.

I wonder how samsh bros. will controll?

Translation = you can pay more money for some of the features the other guys have. Yeah and Microsofts and Sonys price points are too high....

The last time I heard about controls, the director told everyone to hold onto their GameCube controllers since the main game was going to have traditional controls:

I'm glad to see a Nintendo employee take a stand saying some games will work better with traditional controls and that it's ok to publish a Wii title without using the motion features of the Wiimote.  Hopefully other developers will do the proper analysis during the development cycle and will do the same when appropriate (though I doubt it).

(Note: Those news articles are old, so the information may be out of date.)

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

VGChartz Resident Thread Killer

Regarding SSBB, they essentially HAVE to implement Wii Remote support in the main game, not even allowing the option would kill the sales of the series significantly, no matter what "core" fans of the series say.  No offence, guys. ;)
