MGS3 and 4 are up there for me.

Terranigma's ending was amazing. Sad and beautiful. It was an epic game!

When Sunny and Otacon pondered over Snake's whereabouts on the sunlit airfield, i got misty eyes and it felt like my heart was trying to get out of my body through my throat

And then came, quite possibly the most profound scene i've ever seen in a story, two men, father and son, finally reconciliating and leaving behind one last message, one last advice for humanity. Thought provoking and sad, but also calming and very fulfilling. Trully beyond description.

I would actually consider that more of a "OMGWTF are you kidding me?!!!! It can't f**king end like this!!!!!" kind of ending that had you screaming for a sequel so it can make everything better again.

That is how it was for me anyways. FFX's ending made me so sad.

How come no one has said Heavy Rain yet? Im sure a lot of you have played it. Next to the KH games, Crisis Core(I cried. Call me whatever you want, i don't care.), MGS4(OMG), HR(DUH), there are those that even though the ending werent like the ones listed above they were still great. Those are inFamous, Star Ocean 3, KZ2(MUST DESTROY RICO......NOWWWWW!!!!) and a couple others. Still I think the ones that had the biggest impact on me were the KH games, Crisis Core and HR.

Edit:  I guess i can sqeeze FFXIII's ending somewhere around there.  It was kinda sad, but nothing like Crisis Core or MGS4.

Every Half-Life game, especially HL2 and HL2: Episode 2. HL2's ending was mysterious and still satasfying. It left me with more questions than awnsers. Episode 2's ending, while sad, was the perfect way to end the greatest game ever created. It's the only time I've ever cried in a video game, and continued to cry long after the credits had finished. Not a heavy cry, but just a tear every now and then.

Oh shoot I forgot about Heavy Rain, my ending was great, and there are several possible endings so it's got to be one of the top games with great endings.
