you have a weird opinion. To an extent I agree. On small TVs a digital signal is much more important than higher resolution.

May I ask if you are watching HD on a tiny TV? I can see the lack of benefit if you are on a 25" TV, but on 32" 720P is a big improvement, on 55" TV, 1080p is a huge improvement over 480p.

I have a 21" TV using 1080i/720p. I just recognised that small SD-TV fed with a HD-TV signal (and recording) scaled down to fit its screen looks as awesome as my TV at home... well I do not know how it really works but thats how some guy at work explained it to me, and I saw it with my own eyes.

Maybe its all just because of the small TV sizes I use... the SD-TV had 19" and like said before my HD-TV has 21"

yea, if you look at the chart below (for the average person, obviously each person is different), to appriciate 720p on a 21" tv you'd have to be sitting less than 5 ft away. If you notice, a 55" TV at 1080p has a benefit if you sit ~10ft away (I actually sit 9ft away for optimal movie viewing myself)

Obviously the reality is they are pushing HD onto users with tiny screens and upping how much they earn, but for minimal benefit for those users. Get HD if you have a big screen, else it doesn't matter too much unless you sit really close.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Okay, I just bought my HD-TV because my SD-TV broke and this one was cheaper than any SD-TV with the same size at the time. I am ussualy less than 5 ft away (umm roughly 1,5m if I am right...) from the screen, because I use my TV as a PC-Monitor, TV and for my PS3 and Wii. The Wii is the only one that gets used from further distances (I don't want to break my TV, PS3 or PC while playing, the Wii is hiden in a drawer).

I actually think they will have something way better than 3D....I hope to hear about it by E3

That's impossible, Nintendo hasn't created or utilized something better than 3D yet.

is 3d a requirement now?

I will have a wait and see approach on this, all the sudden 3d is the thing for people who didnt care for it.

Where is that thread about Sony pushing 3d as its next failure, it was about 200 post.

What is with people acting like if Sony has 3D in their next PSP that they will be copying Nintendo.

Isn't Nintendo copying Sony since Sony has been pushing 3D for god knows how long now and they will also have it on the market, enabled on all PS3 consoles by summer?

Just curious.

It seems like if Sony continues to implement this feature in their future products, just as they are doing right now with many of their current products (Bluray players, 3D TVs, PS3) and puts it in their next handheld that people are going to blast on them, which wouldn't be fair at all since in this case it wouldn't be fair to use the "copying" card on them.

Nintendo does utlize BETTER or advanced tech than the HD consoles

The hypocracy is laughable here....where are the Nintendo fans whining about how lame 3D is? Where are the oh now PS created a immense buzz with 3D tech, and had demoed some nice up and coming 3d features already so whose copying whose idea now?

I am a proud owner of a DS and love the idea of them implimenting something interesting, but this kind of behaviour is pure trolling and bascially childish and annoying
