Nintendo is probably hiding something about the system, since they know that their competitors will try to copy them

3G/Whisper network...

Probably something more than just touchscreens and analog sticks

This so awesome.

Here is my ideas of what it will entail and why.

Since its backwards compatible with DS line:

1. Clamshell + dual screen.
2. Touch screen(s) - maybe both this time?
3. 2 cameras, probably better quality than DSi.
4. At least 256MB memory but more than likely >512MB.
5. Similar button layout (a la SNES)
6. Wireless (probably N this time)
7. SDHC support.
8. USB support.

Ok, now here is what is known from the release and/or direct quotes from Nintendo.

1. 3D without need for glasses.
2. Very powerful and high quality screens. (Iwata or Miyamoto quote)
3. Built-in rumble, probably using similar tech to Wiimote.
4. Built-in tilt control from accelerometers.

My, speculation

1. Graphics capabilities ~Gamecube

2. 512MB internal memory plus the SDHC support for a flood of downloadable *programs*, not just games. Think iPhone/Droid capabilities here. Nintendo has shown that it is far more interested in additional features than ever before. They just announced plans for Netflix on the DS and this will get them there.
- movie content
- TV on the go
- Great mobile web
- Full app store
- Full portable VC (finally)

3. N wireless to help #2 above.

4. 1 analog stick for best option in 3D controls.

5. ... lol straws. (100pts to those that get reference)

This is going to be an amazing machine and one that I will probably buy, considering I have never owned a portable machine.

Is this the first time gaming machines use 3D out of the box?

Or there's arcade machines too?

Virtual Boy.

Eh, VB didn't use proper 3D. It used a concept much more akin to the pseudo-3D that movie theatres offer with the glasses.

However, yes, it DID offer a "3D-like experience" out of the box.

I am thinking if they show this Zelda Wii and some of the other games coming soon. Vit sensor games etc that they easily win E3 and perhaps still the thunder of MOVE and Natal

WOW I missed this breakdown. Nicely organized and very well-done. Although I think there's a chance they'll put in TWO analogs, and they'll stick out much more than the PSP's goofy nub, possibly with a "dip" built into the top half to allow for them to stick out.

- It will have a lot more onboard storage. 2gigs would be nice.
- memory card slot if 2gigs isnt enough for you.
- 3ds games will be both downloadable and physical media will be available in stores.
- the physical media will be mini dvds. same as the gamecube.
- making it partially (if not completely) gamecube backwards compatible.
- full on app store.
- gameboy/gamegear/neogeo pocket vc

and thats all the crazies i can think of right now.
