Go look it up. UVD is a disc medium that goes from 500 GB and above in storage space, while 5D DvD goes from ONE Terabyte to Ten Terabytes. Of course these aren't released just yet. As you can see Blu-Ray isn't really going to be NEEDED by the next consoles.

But... really 500 GB+ is too much for game storage... Unless you release like 20 games in one >.>

Yeah, that seems far too large a capacity needed for games, and the cost would dwarf brd.  I'm a bit surprised nobody has really studied a way to expand the capacity of DVD to squeeze mroe life out of the format.

Im not surprised, DVD is at it's last legs and it had a good run :)

I think M$ will use an HDDVD derivitive for their games. (Allows them to add extra copy protection features as very frew HDDVD burners will exist). It is possible that their console will be able to play blu ray movies but games will probably use a different format



I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity.
