Loosing BC is bad to a lot of people, including myself, who've been thinking of the PS3 as a PS2 that doesn't spontaneously blow up a year from purchase. I've still got 10-11 months of warranty left on mine, but I know it's only a matter of time before it refuses to co-operate. =/

I don't think any of the European versions have included backwards compatibility in the first place, but I really hope the model I'll eventually buy will have it.
