Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 360 getting USB storage support in 2010 via update !!!

Won't this make hacking game saves so much easier? You can literally save and then plug into a PC now without any other peripherals.

Finally my Forza Motorsport 3 memory stick can be put to use ;)

Do you think it will work with a Card Reader and micro SD/M2 micro cards??

It's already easy, tons of people do it. I hope they fix all the game save hacking and achievement hacking with their next-gen system though. Though in terms of achievements, there's no point without a reset, which would piss A LOT of people off, so it's not likely. Then again, there's no point to achievements anyways.

Hard drive installs on USB? Ok only 16 GB max but that is great news. If you want to buy a 360 but don't want to spend the $300 for an Elite and you already have a USB drive with 16+ GB, just buy an Arcade and you are good.

Excellent news. I was getting tired of only 13 miserable GB's of space. And since i have 2 external HD's it means 45Gb's now. More than enough for me.

So yeah, this news is great for arcade users and 13Gb HDD users like i.

FINALLY...it took them long enough! Anyway, I'm glad to see it regardless...what sucks is that I'm going to have to buy a new 360 this fall...hopefully it comes with a bigger HDD.

If theres no cap on the storage im going to rebuy myself a 360, no doubt about it compadres.

This essentially takes the biggest drawback, peripheral price, since i can hardwire my ethernet and buy a nice 1TB harddrive to use it to its full extent.

pleeeeeease no cap on storage, please please please.

You won't need to buy a new 360 to use flash drives. The two controller ports on the front, and the port on the back take USB connections. It's just a matter of MS making those read flash drive data.

It's just that simple.

Man, my 360 (and PS3/PSP) has barely any memory left. I'm deleting movies, demos, music, (and in rare cases, games) to have room to download content. I'll definitely find use for this new feature. I was just debating purchasing a new HDD! This is right on time, for me.

Why is this such a big deal?

I could understand that if this let you actually have a decent sizes hard drive but 16 gigs?  Meh.

I have a 120gig right now so maybe that's why I don't care a lot but even when I had a 20gig hard drive I don't think I would have really cared about another 16 gigs that much.

^ I think it's a pretty sweet deal for the people who have no hdd at all, 20Gb still does the job but 256Mb/512Mb pretty much forces you to buy a hdd if you download games.

Yeah, I didn't think of the people that have no hard drive.  It's not a bad deal but still not three exclamation mark news.  :-p

I can double my 360 storage for free. (already got big enough USB flash drives)

And new owners aren't forced to buy HDDs.

I think that's a pretty big deal
