Forums - Nintendo Discussion - First Red Steel 2 TV commercial

Game looks great

Around the Network

In New York, the commercial came out during the season premiere for South Park. I figure if there was a good time to air it, that would be the place. It's a decent commercial, got right to the point on why someone should buy it.

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

lets see if any sales numbers go up lol

The ad is awful. Unlike 98% of the rest of the marketing, this ad looks like theyre marketing a game to Nickelodeon audiences.

And during South Park? WTF man.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Looks good... just get it on the tube already Ubisoft. Why is it that I never see commercials for Wii games yet I'm bombarded with one's from PS360 games?

it's normal that the comercial carters to a more casual audience, the core already knows of the game.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

It's not a good ad. It's not terrible either, but Nintendo would have done a better ad ;)

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Because those games could bankrupt studios if they don't advertise them enough, isn't it obvious?

Me too.

I think the commercial got the idea across. Also, these N-audiences are the ones who are supposed to see this. Notice the pirate and samurai; things kids like to imitate (at times).

And unless this commercial actually appears on times and channels that matter (or appears at all) it will be all for naught. FOX....FOX!!

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I saw this yesterday while watching South Park. I thought it could have been better, but, it was okay I guess.
