Forums - Sales Discussion - What can save the PSP marketshare wise?

if you look at america this week you will notice that sales are as low as 30,000 for the psp. now what do you think will get the psp going again? can it be saved?

I say yes

A 50 dollar price cut for normal psp (now 130 dollars)

And a 80 dollar price cut for psp go (Now 170 dollars) will dominate. Psp go is wayy overpriced because if you think about it, you can get a 360+ a game or a wii+ a game for the same price. also, instead of getting a pspgo people could spend another 50 bucks and get a ps3. sony makes enough money from psp go digital distribution...why not have a pricecut...

Nothing can save it, the DS just has too much of a foot-hold.

a MASSIVE load of good games. Games that make you think:" I really need a PSP." And not crappy ports of PS3 games. Who the fuck wants to play LBP, Assassins Creed or Modnation Racers on a PSP if they can get it in HD on a home console? Not that I'm against these games, but they're just not the type of games you want to play if you're outside or in a bus.

The PSP needs games like Pokemon (no kidding, one of the best RPGs on the go), Games with massive effect (no pun intended) like Uncharted 2. Games that are innovative like Professor Layton.

I once had a PSP. They were quite a few games that made you think of buying a PSP like Killzone Liberation, which is just pure fun online, or Monster Hunter, but they're getting old. My PSP broke one and a half year ago. Since then I haven't even seen a single game that made me consider getting a PSP again.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

MGS: Peace Walker!
...jk

Sony needs to drop the price and they have to release PSP 2 QUICK!

actually this is probably the most inteligent post I've read on here. This is why the psp is doing so well in japan, monster hunter is like pokemon for them.

God needs to strike down the DS. That is the only way that I can see the PSP surviving

A big price cut, hardly anyone really buys games for it anymore anyway. Alternatively the DS being discontinued with no replacement.

Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?

Nothing... New hardware with something a little better than "mor powah".

Sony needs to buy some good studios to work exclusively on PSP. Having a constant stream of AAA, portable, unique, exclusive titles will do wonders for the system.

They already have that.  Sony Bend has put out three great games for the PSP but nothing in a while.  I'm sure they're working on something.

PSN: GripnRip

Always up to game.
