Even if what he says is true...

the fact that he feels the need to say it shows that Ninty are a tad rattled and more than a tad miffed by the whole MOVE thing.

Responding to a question in a logical way of thinking is proof they are scared of Move??

According to Sony fans, yes. But by Nintendonian rules it isn't.

We shall see how good the device performs to see whether Nintendo is scary or not.

As for me, I'll use the Apple Theorem and say Nintendo is a company very smart that can handle imitators gracefully.

I read the article and I can't disagree with the assertion in the title. I've not been convinced to purchase a PS3 yet and Move certainly hasn't changed my position on this. If PS3 is going after the same market as the Wii then they have to be focusing on people who haven't yet committed to any system because I doubt that Move can convince too many current Wii owners to jump ship.

"Reggie was fantastic in this interview. It takes a lot of class to stay so calm and collected when talking to an idiot."

Truer words were never spoken...

This entire interview was just- I wish he asked Reggie a positive question, instead of every single one being a warning. And for those who don't know, Reggie does not respect Pachter. He just had no alternative response. What is he going to say, the truth, "I hate him"?

And earlier in this thread, someone said "If you asked a Wii owner for better graphics, they would say yes"......As opposed to what, saying NO?

All I can do is shake my head....this whole industry crap and these incessant 'viral' fans that even lurk these forums really bother me. The only reason I care is because the opinions of these idiots seriously affect what happens to the future of the product I paid good money for. I only want good things for it, to make my purchase worth it....when people constantly tell you you are a second-class, misinformed, mentally-challenged, idiotic, pathetic, sub-standard fool who doesn't know what they want, how to use what they have, or choose a 'better' alternative, yea, you can get pretty "miffed".

Screw* that.

*Like Reggie, I chose a better alternative........

Thanks for the update captain obvious.

Wii owners thinking about getting a PS3 will want to buy PS3 for reasons other than the Move; doesn't mean they won't also get the Move, but they'll be getting PS3 for things they can't do/get on Wii.

Move is there to convince people thinking "Hmmm Wii or PS3?" that they don't need to factor motion controls into their decision, because they both do motion control. With Move, Sony has diminished or eliminated one of the points of difference between PS3 and Wii. So now the decision is not based on user interface functionality but on price and games. Wii still has the price advantage by a large margin. Games wise there's quality on both sides so it just depends on your gaming preferences if price isn't a big deal for you.

If Move ends up being most of what it claims to be then I think it can eat into Wii sales a bit, and it can help convince Wii owners who are already in the "I might buy a PS3 sometime" camp to get themselves a PS3. But Move will never be a major driving force for PS3 HW, at the end of the generation I'd be surprised if it bosted PS3's total by even 5%. And that's if it does well.

The point of differentiation was never the interface. It was always the experience offered. Nintendo doesn't offer a Wii interface, they offer a Wii experience and thats a critical difference. The critical factor is the experience offered by games like Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Mario Kart, New Super Mario Brothers, and Wii Fit. You can't call it even between the two systems on games, the Move is starting from zero and people have already had their fill on the Nintendo titles so clones aren't going to see even 20% of the success, even if they are vastly better.

Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?

Well, I'm a Wii owner and I'm willing to pay 400 dollars for the bundle on two conditions.

I wanna see sony support for it in the form of new games (and more importantly, new experiences) and I wanna be impressed by it's precision.

I though they were gonna deliver both of those in their press conference. But it was actualy the opposite. They showed mostly casual titles that copied heavily from wii's own shovelware, and there was a lot of talk about it's lack of precision!

So, i'm still on the fence.

I believe the actual IG article title has been "Nintendo's Reggie on Wii Core Games, Wii HD, Shortages & More" all along,  since the IG URL name for the article fits that title, and not the rather sensationalist title of this thread. "No One would want Move when they have Wii" ? Reggie didn't exactly say that.

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Hell, I own a Wii and a PS3 and I have zero intention of even considering purchasing the Move. Any multiplat game that is good on both consoles will be bought on Wii. Graphics never *make* the game and HD isn't going to make me spend ~$150 for a two player Move setup. (assuming $100 for base Move and $50 for standalone)

move could slow down Wii sales if marketed just right and could have Wii owners jump to ps3 if its heavily supported (with old games patched)
