well... is he being paid as a professional reviewer? If so then he should really stick the course because he's being paid to, or decline to give a full normal review and make it clear its because he felt the game was so bad he couldn't even be bothered to finish it.

In the end if it's his job then tough, get the job done or quit... I don't walk out of boring meetings half way through because I can tell they're awful already... although thinking about it...

But no - it's like a film reviewer walking out of a film. It's normally a no-no. He's being paid to review for me and if he isn't doing the job then that's not good enough!

Pity for him he's reviewing a medium where crap can be over twenty hours long vs two - but them's the breaks.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

While I pretty much agree with you, he did quote that he followed the rules set by destructoid, that they don't have to actually finish the game.  He did his job from the employers perspective.  I suppose if we want to bash him for not finishing the game, we should really be pointing the finger at destructoid.

Owner of PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Switch, PS Vita, and 3DS

i just want to clear up, that I do not hate Jim Sterling or Destructoid. I never really like his reviews, but he is an intelligent, funny guy. I find the site to be manned by fanboys (of different consoles) and most of the editors and contributors are people who think they are smarter than they really are.

However, the site is funny and a pretty good place for news and first hand accounts of gaming events.

Jim Sterling is the reviews editor, so I would find it hard to believe that he didn't make those rules on reviews.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Wow, I wish my company was like that!  Guess that let's him off the hook, although it does simply shift the blame to his employeers as you say.

Personally, I have little interest in visiting a site and reading reviews if the rules allow the reviewers to simply not bother finishing the game they're supposed to be reviewing on my behalf.
