Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rumor: New Slim 360 Model?

i dont know much about computers and stuff, but would it be possible to use the xbox360/hdd as an external hard drive and just port it to the slim and transfer your games/patches...etc. with a usb cord?

My friend used a special cable to transfer between his Xbox 360s hard disc and a console. I think they can use that.

they just said that there are no plans to make a slim model people are full of shit

You think they will announce it a year or whatever in advance? No one would buy current consoles anymore and wait for it to come out. They will never admit another version being made, just like Sony announced the slim like a month before release.

That looks quite authentic to me, I guess it has two SATA because one is for HDD and other is for the DVD drive. And that Coolermaster seems to be a 120mm one, probably for testing purposes. Oh and I think NightAntilli got most of the layout right, except that I think the bottom-right ports are for cards, and the ones to the left are USBs.

Now we only need Slim Wii! :D

Yeah kind of retarded of me to forget one of those SATA ports is for the dvd drive xD That probably means no option to connect your old hard drive to the console, but it'll have an internal one..

As for the memory and USB, I was doubting if the ones on the bottom right were USB or not. You might be right. The new mobo sure has a lot of ribbon plugs though.. I wonder what for...

I don't want a slim per say, but a redesign would be awesome.

I expect this will launch with Natal as the rebranded XBox, a GC -> Wii like transition. The difference being that Natal will still work with the older models.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

@Damnyouall: Definitely looks like an Xbox mobo. I doubt it'll be a "slim" version. More like the next xbox probably...

I very much doubt that they have working prototypes of Xbox 3 at this point, it's much too early. If anything, this is a re-design of the current 360.

It doesn't look like a 120mm, more like a 92mm fan.  Interesting now that the SATA ports are on the MB.  I guess the HDD will be totally internal now?  If you stack a HDD and dvd drive, it might look more like the game cube.  I wonder if they kept the built in flash memory?  What did they do with the external memory slots for game saves?
