Just finished playing this game and I will say this game is awesome, there is so much to do in it and the story, graphics etc all come together in one of the best game I have ever played. This year will be a great year for gaming but I think ME2 will be very hard to beat, its truelly a masterpiece in its genre. The last game I played in the last few years that could compete was MGS4 and I believe Mass Effect 2 beats it or its my personnal favorite.

What game do you guys think will make GOTY this year ?

There are SO many top titles being launched this year, but so far, Mass Effect 2 is a leading candidate, and I don't think judges are going to forget it, especially since Bioware is likely to launch an expansion in fall, ala Awakening, imho.

Well although I enjoyed Mass Effect 2 a lot, I would not personally consider it a GOTY contender this early. I have a hard time really talking about GOTY until later in the year as you are getting nominees from a whole. However, it's really hard for me to put that up there as a nominee even right now.

Obviously there are a lot of people who love the series, especially this second one, but I have very high expectations out of Bioware and potentially them not living up to them with the ME series is affecting this decision. But I'll get back to you on this in November haha. Depending how the rest of the games are, could be a contender. I remember last year I held on to Arkham Asylum as the GOTY until one of the last games I played of the year, Assassin's Creed II which eventually became my GOTY 2009. Could be exact opposite this year where one of the first I play turns out to be it.

It could realistically get it as far as Metacritic scores go.

But yes, I think many publications will have their vision clouded by the fall releases.

No offence but u have been playing too much! U actually miss god of War 3 release date n as we all know it will get GOTY. (jk) but yeah there are so manny great games, god of war being one, that is hard to tell at these point. There us no doubt that it has as much potential as any other AAA title if not more. I think is one of the top 5 for these year.

* MGS:4 is too much for ME2 though. Not saying ME is a bad game but guns of the patriots is in another level. Being ps3 exclusive helped since blueray has much more capability than DL disks. I personally think that is the best or top 3 beat games in the history of gaming overall. That's how crazy these game is.

Hold your Chocobos buddy. It is way too early for this because there are already great contenders out, and a long list of great games that are still coming.

This game is the best the 360 has to offer period, other than GeoW 1 in my taste, but it would be stupid to call it game of the year this early. I mean this is pointless to really to discuss now.
