Makes sense to me,  they don't want Gears 3 to go up against the most beastly game of 2010.

I don't believe this as Microsoft/Epic have always released Gears in November to make a holiday push. Now if the game isn't ready and they are releasing in April due to tweaks that is okay with me.

I love Gears; hopefully this news is true. I wouldn't want it to release within the crowded holiday window anyway.

this seems like the logical thing to do, i think alot of you guys are forgetting that a Modern Warfare sequel would be targetted at a Holiday 2011 release date (if the 2 year dev cycle is continued); Im sure Microsoft would rather space out the 3 biggest FPS/TPS franchises in the industry (Halo/Gears/Modern Warfare) by 6 months. Plus if Natal is implemented well into GeOW3, that could provide a larger hardcore Natal push after the initial Natal launch (good way to continue the products momentum)

I guess it's only once you get to see patterns in other player's behavior (with grenades and super-weapons in particular) that you can influence the course of a game and (tacitly or not) organize teamwork AND REALLY ENJOY ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ONLINE GAMEPLAYS AROUND (if it weren't for the host having agin a slight advantage this game might conquer the huge Halo fanbase imo).

My guess that MS pushed Epic to issue the game 6 months earlier to overwhelm the crowds and the media with a magistral HALO -NATAL -GEARS combo !

Please let this be true! If we get a Halo Reach / Gears of War 3 / Fable 3 combo all within six months of each other my brain may explode!!
