Forums - Gaming Discussion - Crysis 2 Versus Killzone 2 Screenshot Comparison

You PS3 defenders keep moving the goal-posts. It is literally impossible for any PS3 title to be technically more visually impressive than even the first Crysis. Period.

Now if you want to talk art direction, well, that's a very subjective thing and you're entitled to your own opinion. (IMO Okami on the PS2/Wii beats any game mentioned thus far for art direction). But technically speaking, Crysis (and PC Crysis 2) leave God of War 3 and its peers in the dust.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

lmao, my eyes don't lie... Maybe you should set them both up side by side and have some people over and take a poll.. Otherwise lets agree to disagree.

“Absolutely, we can do much more with it. I don’t know if we are even close to 50 percent of PlayStation 3’s power at this point,” said Asmussen about God of War 3.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

You misssed the entire point of my post, and I am not a PS3 defender, learn to read, I am first and foremost a PC gamer. technically speaking, no amount of technical details changes the fact that GOW 3 is still more impressive looking at. Again, no one is making games to take advantage of the superior Pc hardware. they certainly dont leave any game in the dust, crysis was nice, not that nice.

no one has moved any goal posts, please re-read my post and try to comprehend.

it's not even close... KZ2 uses all kinds of BS to hide it's imperfections... not to mention a color pallet that gives Gears 2 hugs... that really is the biggest difference... one has color the other has... grey

HUH? What BS? Please explain? All games use methods to make them look betetr, LMAO. 360 fanboy I bet. Cryssi 2 doesnt look any better on console then any other AAA game this gen.  Color is the only difference, wow.  KZ2 uses no more BS as you say then any other game.  It just happens to look better then almost all other games, thats all that matters. Sounds like a made up thing a fanboy would say, all kinds of BS, lmao.

I would like to bring in Metro 2033 as evidence of a very recent game where it can't even run on my PC anymore. Running 2.66 ghz quad, 8 gig RAM, and a 9800gt and my PC cannot handle the highest settings at all. I couldn't even turn on DX11.

I can guarantee you that Metro 2033 will look better than any console game released on a PS3 even if PS3 developers were given 100 years.

LMAo, Metro 2033 for one is crap, it also does not look as good as GoW 3, I play it maxed on my core i7 rig, very linear small areas as well, compare that to epic massive scale fo GOW 3. Man, no wonder us PC gamers get such a bad rap. DX 11 barely looks nay different, hate to break it to you. same as Stalker COP, could not tell any diff with DX 11 turned on.

Aaargh, Crysis is technically impressive, but only in some areas; so it is very impressive in some aspect, but disappointing in others, thus the end result is dull. Animations are awkward, explosions and flames are not that good (flames look all the same), lights are not technically impressive either (it's just scenographic when you see the sunlight through a gazillion polygons of foliage). On the other hand, physics effects in killzone 2 are top-notch.

So you must not have played it at all considering the fact that there are many wide open areas. In fact such an area is in the very first level you play. Smooth lying there, I suggest you play the game before you talk about it.

Also let me put it this way, I stopped playing GoW 3 mid way because Metro 2033 was such an amazing game it had to be finished first. Best decision I ever made in prioritizing games.
