Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Anyone having a SNES attached to a LCD HD TV?

Playing Galaxy made me a little nostalgic, so I digged out my SNES today to play a little SMB 3 (In the Allstars version, therefore the SNES). Until earlier this year, I had attached my SNES to an old, small TV but we put that one away recently, and therefore I had to attach my SNES onto the big TV in the living room which is an LCD Flatscreen as the title of this thread already indicates. The thing is, when I turned on my SNES, the graphics looked very corny (I hope this word really exists in english) and a lot worse than they used to on the other TV. Is this the case with all LCD's? If so, is there anything I can do to improve the looks? Or is it only our TV? I'd be glad if someone could inform me!

i dont know, many people have said this

and alot of people use corny but i dont know if it in the dictionary

well then corny is not what I mean, I mean it looks like corn

The picture is not really sharp, text for example does not have clear borders put you can see the pixels too good... I guess it would be easier to explain in german for me

because of the low resolution of the snes, and the much higher resolution of your tv set the picture will always look rather bad. you would need equipment for several hunders dollers/euros to enhance it. but that would have only a little effect. thatfor people are buying new consoles :)

nope thats why u download them on ur VC :(
dont try playing n64.. looks even worse then snes..

oh wait, if you can tell me the german word you probably speak german faxanadu right? Why have I only realised that now?

Ok I'll put it down in german here in case anyone speaking german steps into this thread.

It seems not to be easy to explain it in german either...
