Forums - Gaming Discussion - Just Cause 2 Demo - Absolutely Amazing

This is a demo I keep coming to again and again, I can't keep myself away from it... its just too damn fun...

The demo alone has me convinced me to buy this game. One thing that I can barely comprehend is the utter scale of the game world... its remarkable... And with the game being focused around the idea of creating "Chaos", it does just that, creates utter chaos. Some of the moments I have experienced in the demo just make me all giddy inside.

Sure I have a feeling the story will completely suck and there won't be any real depth, but this is one of those games where it does not matter. When it comes down to it this game is jam packed with so many features its damn near unbelievable.

When it comes down to it if you haven't played the demo yet, play it now. I can't think of a single reason you shouldn't, unless you hate fun or something.

I loved the demo myself too. I wasn't actually expecting it to be that good, since the original Just Cause was a bit of a dissapointment.

In the entire 30 minutes of the JC2 demo there's more to do than in an entire playthrough of Just Cause 1 xD

Oh, have you tried going as high as you can with a chopper or the airplane and just do a free fall drop? It took me almost 2 minutes to go from the highest possible drop point to the last second where it was safe to open the parachute xD

Lol yeah I know what you mean, I wish the demo was longer to be honest, it's absolutely incredible.

Although the game world seems large, it's tons smaller than the first game, like literally a fraction of it, however, since there's more things to do on it, and it's also focused on vertical gameplay, all can be forgotten.

The story will be terrible, the voice acting is already terrible, the cutscenes are bleh, but the gameplay, oh god damn yes yes yes yes YES.

One of my favourite things to do in the demo, is steal a helicopter or the plane, fly it as high as I can, jump out, and try to get back in it before we hit the floor and explode/die.

I also like grabbing onto one of those canisters, shooting it to fly up into the air, let it explode, and freefall back down to earth, sometimes, I'll open the parachute as soon as it explodes, and cook a grenade, and let it explode, so it knocks me FURTHER into the air.

PS. Parachute + Grapple = Best transportation method ever invented.

@ lestatdark, To be fair, I liked the first Just Cause for skydiving, since my record is managing to freefall for an entire 12 minutes, whereas on here it took me just under 3 minutes, which was a little disappointing, but still fun as hell to do.

Well, I guess that the vertical exploration is a bit limited as well. I think that the full game will allow you do that massive freefall as well.

I agree with you when you say that Parachute + Grappling is the best way to go around in the game, it's also so much fun to do xD. I love grappling around the trees in an enemy base, snipe them from up there and just stir s*** up :P

I haven't played Just Cause 1 but I heard it was a letdown, this is certainly going to be more or less like a surprise to everybody at how good it is going to be. I have probably had more fun in this demo then any full sandbox game I have ever played.

And yeah I've actually done that a few times hahaha :P Def beats the ceiling of GTA4 eh? lmao

And what do you think about like the pure scale of the world? I love how the demo itself is ENORMOUS but around what, like 15-20% of the size of the full world map? I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this game more then any Sandbox game I have ever played.

I am definitely getting this asap, if I wasn't going to be out of town at the time of release this would be a day one purchase for me :P

Hahaha the parachute is definitely fun, I love going in, causing a shitload of havoc then just parachute grapple the hell out of there. I really really really like some of the motorcycles too though! I love how when you pull off a huge stunt or jump it switches to a stunt cam for a little bit, so epic. Thats what this game is, pure epicness.

Yeah, the scale of the game is really amazing, but like jbrist said, it looks to be a bit smaller than Just Cause 1.

Even if it is smaller, it looks to be much more varied, so that's a huge plus over Just Cause 1. The demo is really, really huge. I have spent over 5 hours around it, and haven't seen everything that's to see. I love to go to the radar station with the Armoured Vehicle and just rip it apart, or take a chopper over to the heavily populated area and let the chopper fall down over the enemy commander there XD

Yeah, I hope it lets you freefall for ATLEAST 10 minutes on the full version, because seriously, that's one of the best things about Just Cause, and it's what pops into anyones head when you mention it "Oh, you mean that game where you can jump out of an aeroplane and don't hit the floor for like, ten minutes?", I want the second to be thought of in the same way, but obviously have more to do, and the grapple hook is seriously one of the best things to happen to the game, the first one was pretty terrible...

Let's hope those big ass mountains you see in the snow area are bigger than they look!

That's one of the areas that had me go like :O when I saw it up there on the plane.

That and the small island on the middle of the lake near the snow mountains. That looked to be like a theme park of some sorts.
