No, just no. FFXII had dry characters and an almost non-existent storyline.

You know, in other games I grow tired of battles constantly. This is probably the only game in recent memory where the battle system is fun enough for me to go into each area with a "bring it on!" attitude. On a side note, has anyone else noticed the ridiculous amount of save points in this game? I'm still fairly early, but it looks like they're doing everything in their power to make sure people play this through to the end.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

how would you compare the battle system to XII out of curiosity?

Nothing similar. Very action oriented.

That sums it up best.

If I get this game and hate the battle system, I'll buy a copy of Dot Heroes and make a video of me breaking it in half while you watch in agony!!

My big thing with RPGs is I like to have control over my actions, which is why I like the trun-base system and why I consider XII an abomination to the FF series.

I got admit, I'm considering giving FF another chance after readind some people's comments.

Well even though XIII has auto-battle you can still insert your actions manually. Sometimes auto-battle does not pick the best moves to perform, like when fighting enemies with elemental weaknesses I choose to enter all my attacks on my own, I deal much more damage that way. It also allows me to easily repeat all those actions by holding one button.

It gives much more control than FFXII did, which was basically a game where you set your gambits and sit back and watch.

Also if you end up not liking it and breaking a copy of 3DDGH I wouldn't care because you still paid for it and gave Atlus and FromSoftware your money.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

yeah this is constant, there is about 3 or 4 in each map depending on its size, which is about 3 times as many in any previous FF, there is also a retry option if you get a Game Over which is a good thing.

Yeah, Hope is a great character. He actually has a purpose in the storyline. Also, who is Vaun?

Vaun was the main character that had no reason to be there, best way to sum him up and then Penelo had even less reason to be there.

Huh? I don't remember a "Vaan" being in FFXII. Wasn't Asch the main character? And who is Penelo?
