So, 10 year dev cycle?

I really want them to make a HD game similar in open-ness to FF VIII and IX because there was so much that you were able to do in the game outwith the main storyline and also you had control of AIRSHIPS!!!!

Lost Odyssey took shorter time do develop with smaller team and it has towns... Don't get me wrong. FFXIII is still a great game (currently on chapter 8) but this sounds like a excuse.

IMO, you can't compare production values of those two games.

Hmm... more open shouldn't be too hard. I can see it already...

We'll tear down the walls of the passages, and replace them with... hmm... fences! Yeah, that's the ticket. See how beautiful our open world is? Wait... you want to go out there? TOUGH! We're leading you down this path to show you our movie instead; maybe we'll let you explore when you're just 70% done with the game this time...

No thanks toriyama, I really like this FFX & FFXIII approach.

well im at the end of chapter 5... and it is becoming a bit samey... very linear.

yeah i just finished that chapter and i know what you mean but FFX was like this aswel, it didnt really open up until you got the Airship and that was a fair bit through the game, just in FFX there were more towns and cities to explore and you had Blitzball to take you away from the story for abit.
