Alright, the subject has come up in another thread, but I think it should get it's own. When we say the Japan region, is it JUST Japan? or does it include other countries in the area, such as China, Vietnam or South Korea? If not, what region are they? and if they are, will they be pushing up the Japan region as their economies grow? Nintendo is currently expanding into South Korea, a country that's already approaching a level of economic prosperity similar to Japan. So what is the future of the Japan region, and more importantly, what IS the Japan region?

yea. i'm curious too. i know the ps3 in hong kong launched the same time it launched in japan. even though theirs is PAL version. is that still under "Japan" numbers? or would it be "Others". if it's in "Others", then shouldn't there be hardware sales numbers prior to March 23?

gotta edit this. my friend said Hong Kong PS3s are NTSC. so does Japan include the rest of Asia? that's the question.

According to that; Japan, South Korea, The Philipines and Myanmar are all part of the NTSC region that NA belongs too. Now Japan is considered a different region because of NTSC-J, but do any of the other near by countries use that? or is that television breakdown not applied to videogames? That map only seems to complicate things more.
