The Lag, the annoying light (you want THIS is dark rooms?), and the high price will surely make Move Sonys next flop.

PS MOVE IS THE NEW PSP GO and this is F_A_C_T

I can understand not liking the idea, but geez dude, I've seen you troll the PS Move like...15 times. And I haven't even read that many comments. Lay off it. Damn.

Personally, I will wait for Wii2. The only thing that move can do that WiiM+ can't is depth detection, which WM+ probably could simulate (if it doesn't already). I have my Wii for Nintendo games. I could care less if they are HD or not, I care about how they play, and Nintendo has that down solid.
I have a 360, so if Natal is like $50, I'll probably pick it up.

man, where did this false information stem from? The Wii Remote (without WM+) can absolutely sense depth. There are 2 beacons on the sensor bar. If the beacons are far apart, you are close to the TV, if the beacons are close together you are closer to the TV (or way to the side, but it is a relatively safe assumption that you are mostly infront of the TV). There were games near launch that used depth in their gameplay.

OK. You're right about that. If you ever played with the drawing tool on the photo channel you can make your marker bigger or smaller by how close you are to the sensor bar. However, the Move can sense depth without having to point the remote directly at the screen, due to that stupid ball on the top.

On an unrelated note, have you ever encountered people who think the sensor bar is actually what does the motion detection? Fools.

Yea, the WM+ has to point at the screen (it can survive for a while not pointing at the screen) and that is a minor downside compared to the PSMove. Overall I think both systems will provide essentially the same game play quality. I think most of these "lag" reports have more to do with software than hardware.

And yes, I have seen people think the sensor bar actually senses, but who can blame them when it has such a deceiving name.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

What I find interesting is the reviews about the move compared to the reviews about the wii from e3 2006.
The move reviews seem to focus much more on the technical aspects (lag, abilities) while the wiimote seemed to focus more on the game and feel aspect.

"However, ignoring pricing, the PlayStation Move is clearly a stronger solution than Nintendo's Wii remote, nunchuk, and Wii MotionPlus combination, and it definitely has more potential because of this more sensitive and more capable tech. "

Not sure where or how this conclusion is drawn. Seems it's added for the sake of crapping on Nintendo without anything in the article backing it up.

Lag issues will NEED to be ironed out, if you have lag on the pointer that makes it pretty much pointless for something like SOCOM. The controls are supposed to get better, not worse.

Only thing is I am not so sure that will be particularly easy... and I certainly don't think it can be as fast to point as something like Wii Play. It's different tech.

The Wii remote has a camera in it that tracks the 2 points (3 or 5 LEDs at each point) of IR light on the "sensor" bar. It can tell where you are pointing with minimal motion sensing input needed.... all it needs is the accelerometer to help determine if you move Wii remote vertical position (not tilt... position) as well as to periodically check that you are holding it the right way up (if you are on the Wii menu, and you point away, then turn the remote over and point back sometimes the hand will be the wrong way up)

The Move controllers need to use the accellerometers (with help from the PSeye) all the time to determine which way they are pointing, which while thay are accurate, are not as fast as the IR camera.

---

The Move is better suited to gesture based things because it can track the ball of light useing the PSeye, which means it can do the same stuff as Wii remote & motion+ except less calibration.... however I don't think it can perform as a pointer as responsively as the Wii remote can. (for menus and such it's fine of course)

Lol, yeah I remember way back when Wii was unveiled everybody used to think so, even big, professional sources like IGN. XD How wrong they were. They were like 'yeah you place this device on top of your TV, and it creates an invisible force field in which it can track the controller and recognize in 3D space where it is and how it's moved'... XD

Is this thing going to work between the 28th February and the 1st of March ? /sarcasm

The problem will be the reliability of the device (as always with sony). There's no data about the battery lifespan also, if it comes with a battery and so on. Oh, by the way, Nintendium-made Wiimote break TVs, we have to know if this breaks TV or if TV breaks the move ^^

"and definitely sleeker than Nintendo's four-and-a-half-year-old device."

November 2006 to March 2010 is three years and four months. Can't these people count?

I got into a heated discussion over that a few days ago. Cammie said Wii was into its 5th year, and when I told everyone that I didn't understand why would Cammie say such thing, they told me to learn to count lol. It's 3 and 4 months, like you say, but people count 2006 and 2010 as whole years :/

Well... let's jsut think for a sec... yeah yeah i know, just, stick with me for a while

Let's say that the wii wasn't created on November 2006 (launch date) let's say it was created well before.... I mean, it was announce way earlier. So MAYBE, and I'm just saying maybe, when they talk about four and a half year old device... they are referring when it was created, not when it was launched.

Call me crazy, but when you look at it that way.... it makes a lil more sense than just saying "rofl, learn to count"

Hmm who said rofl learn to count anyways?

No... the rofl part learn to count was just an expression. A lot of people claim that they don't know how to count, but it's just that people tend to forget that the wii wasn't created the day it was launch. That's why they said it's a 4-5 year old technology

That's true, but the final product is indeed 3.5 years old, prototypes always exist prior to launch. And we know Nintendo will never release something that's not yet ready to be released.

TWRoO, did you just say that even now, in the year of 2010, the PS3 can't run a 1:1 emulation of Wii Play?

As far as I am aware, it can't be as fast as Wii Play (ie getting high scores like 900pts would be nigh on impossible)

Then again, I haven't used the PSMove... I am basing this of the technology it is using (accellerometers are not as immediate tech as cameras)

Well gents, i guess he race is on big time.

Not any big race but it still serves its purpose of making us ponder what the hell is gonna happen next ;).

If what TWRoO is saying turs out to be true, well more power to him as he clearly deserves it, Wii owners get the satisfaction to smirk a little and PS3 supporters recieve the right to palmface themselves just for the irony of it all.

And pancakes.
