Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I'm actually rethinking of buying a Wii now thanks to PlayStation Move

I've been thinking of repurchasing a Wii again, after I got rid of it a while back. I made a thread on here asking what good games to get for it and why its worth it. So after a while I planned on getting one, but turns out they're always out of stock. So I'm waiting to get one.

Now the problem is, I currently own the PS3 and want to make the Wii a secondary console. But now that Sony revealed PlayStation Move, I'm sorta rethinking spending $200 on a Wii. After seeing the countless games in motion and how almost every 3rd party developer is behind it, it makes the Wii seem like something I don't need. It basically does what the Wii does, but better.

Though of course, that depends on the software that comes out for the PlayStation Move as opposed to Nintendo's library of games for the Wii. Which means I'll just wait a bit longer in seeing which one is more worth it, or just end up buying both. Not exactly sure, but what's everyone elses opinion about it? Should I continue to wait, get both, or what? =(?

Plain and simple dude, games, if you like games on Wii buy it, there's some pretty awesome stuff to be had, a lot of games were listed in that other thread you made.

To hell with motion controllers keeping you on PS3, you can't get a lot of the games on it that already support motion controls on Wii, so if that's really what you want then go ahead and buy the Wii, if you want games just go back to your other thread and see if they suit you.

Honestly I own all 3 consoles as they all offer pretty sweet games, will be buying move when it comes out, but I really doubt the support for Move and iffy on the whole PS Eye tracking color which may or may not mess up in rooms like mine, but I want to use it in the new Ape Escape, I'm a huge fan of the series and thats why I think its all about the games. If you really want something that supports WM+ then Zelda Wii is coming and its a series that never disappoints and exclusive to Nintendo.

You can expect the same third party games for both Wii and PS3, since their control systems are fairly regular. Same minigames collections, same casual games, similar inputs and features.

If you already own PS3 and are thinking about buying the Wii, don't do it for the motion controls, do it for Nintendo's exclusive game lineup. In other words - If Super Mario, Zelda and Metroid are worth buying new console for > do it.

This.

While I like the motion controls on the Wii It's not why I bought one. I bought it for the games. It's typical thinking by some gamers really. A lot of people only think of the hardware, the PS3 is more powerfull than the wii so it has to be better or now the PS3 has motion controls so no need for the wii. WRONG! Its about the software you dolts lol. Speaking in general, im not calling anyone here a dolt =0).

So like my good friend aragod says. Just look at the games. Its not that hard a decision really. I wish you luck.

your as bad as those basketball card collectors who keep changing personal collection players every week.

Just pick a damn player you like and stick with him.

Same with this if you like the games on Wii buy it if all you want is some motion controls and dont care about games I guess buy the move. at least you will have multiple coloured flash light if it does not turn out for you.

Also on another note I wonder if someone with epilepsy will have a seizure if that ball keeps changing colours. I hope Sony puts in a warning that says glowing ball may cause seizures.

Otherwise some soccer mum will be suing them quick about how it caused their child to seizure.

I was not impressed at all by the playstation move things I've seen so far. The truth is the real great use I'll make of it if I ever get it is playing a COD or Killzone with motion controls on my PS3, cause since I played my first FPS on my Wii I realized there's no better way to play them (no, pc purist, I don't agree with you... With a Wiimote you can play this kind of games on your feet, and I love that).

I love my PC gaming as I grew up on FPS on PC's

and I agree Motion Controls are much more fun with FPS. No need to make sure your keys are all working or mouse laser is clean, and that you have a good mouse pad for tracking.

buy the playstation move, sony have much more up their sleeves that has not been shown before.
I can't wait until Natal is shown just before it's release and it gets all the hype and praise because it never has been done before /s (of course it has do media forget the eyetoy that quickly lol)
also the closest you will get to socom 4 is resident evil 4 wii edition, and maybe conduit, also third parties are giving up on the core audience for wii now, so it's your choice

it's the future of handheld

Do you like wii games that you cannot play in the PS move?

Yes - Buy the damn thing

No - Don't buy the damn thing

It is so simple dude =)

Also, you have to realized that the Vitality Sensor is coming and it might be something else!

Aaaaand... before you say you're not interested in vitality sensors, think about 2006-2007-2008 and how every HD owner was not interested in motion, and take a look at the situation now.

The move is a tagged on concept for an existing console with a different basic input mechanism as its prime mode of operations. It will never ever be as much utilized in games as the basic input mechanism of the Wii that is the Wii remote.

Look at Wii Motion+ and the Balance Board and you will understand what I want to say.

I'm considering the same thing. Thanks for making this thread.

I think you will have to wait and see what the PS games offer in combination with Move.

Well, Zelda will be at E3 so that may help you make up your mind.
Only one console offers the awsomeness that is Metroid Prime Trilogy though.
