Forums - Sony Discussion - PlayStation Home 1.35 Launching Tomorrow

There is a list of methods somewhere on the internet that explains how to make boring games addictive. Like the boring grinds in wow, or any facebook game. Home should just take a note from that.

And also stream the environment in the backround. Loading is so last gen.

Loading times thats it?Well they did add star wars items a while back and it takes time to upgrade maybe theyll do more upgrades?

Screw you guys, Im going HOME.

Woah. This looks pretty nice. The biggest issue with Home is its clunky and disjointed design, making it hard to do much of anything easily, and this update looks to focus solely on solving such issues. The new menu looks like it makes the entire thing a bit more cohesive and easier to navigate, and improved load times (but what about download times?) should make accessing different areas much easier.

This is good to hear, but I'd like to see Home incorporated into the overall Network a bit better. Microsoft seems to have the right idea with their Avatars, and it'd be nice if Home was incorporated into the overall PlayStation experience to a degree while still offering dedicated "hanging out" spaces like it does now. Though given the somewhat ugly look of Home's avatars, I'm not so sure I'd want to see them making an appearance elsewhere lolz.

What happened to the trophy room? was that an idea that got nixed? I haven't been on it in a few months so I may have missed that update.
Anyway, I'd love to get that update. Bask in the glory of my trophies.

They probably gave up on the idea once they realized devs wouldn't want to include 3D models for trophies on top of the tophies themselves.

It sucks, though.  That and the ability to stream movies via your apartment were two of the features advertised before Home went public, and they're two of the only features I could actually see myself using in Home.

So far, Home really hasn't delivered on many of its promises.  They've done some impressive work, but its still missing some key features they showed off at the very beginning, with the designers instead working in other directions entirely.

The trophy room sounded like a good idea, but past a certain level, all those bronze trophies become virtually impossible to arrange and manage.

Now if developers wanted to create platinum or maybe even gold trophy items for Home, sure, but even then how often would the typical user actually invite a friend to
"Come to my trophy room and see all my trophies!"
"Uh, yeah! That um... sounds like a great idea."

I'd settle for the occasional bonus item for accomplishing X task in games that have Home support.

Video streams in private areas on the other hand... Would have been nice.

imma go and see whats new in HOME.
Anyone following me???

You probably won't see personal movies off of your PS3 being shown in home. Would Sony be liable if you showed dvds or porn in home. How about the all that bandwidth of movies being streamed to PSN from your PS3 and then to the Home users who are watching the video in your home space? Maybe will see a youtube sort of video appliance in home though, where you pick the youtube video to be shown. And everyone complaining about no more open mikes, it doesn't work. People walk around saying crap, harassing or playing boombox music in your face. It's better to mute everyone and only allow people to talk to each other with voice with mutual consent, which is what they have now.

motostorm's aircraft carrier looks pretty cool.
might have to try it out...

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

Might mean it's time to revisit Home.
