I couldn't get over the design of his armor. I hated it. The character himself was actually alright.

Understandable.  Sometimes his mouth could move.  Sometimes, it couldn't.  He wore that big ass red cape that matched nothing.  But when he stood toe to toe with the Eradicator and later, the Cyborg, I really started to like the guy.  He was pretty cool in "52" a couple of years ago, too.
