Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Interesting Editorial " Is Zelda in Decline"

I thought Twilight Princess was an amazing game. I don't really want change though. It felt like a updated version of OOT which was awesome but then they added in the wolf gameplay which I hated. Article is spot on though, I don't know what I really want but I know it's not stylus gameplay.

I stopped reading when he complained about Majora's Mask's three day system.

I think that the guy who wrote this wants all of his Zelda games to be the same, complaining about everything that is different in them.

Good read I have to say after N64 I only played Minish Cap and then tried out Phantom Hourglass. I regretted Phantom Hourglass, so I have no plans to buy another unless they really change it up some again.

You didn't read it at all, did you.

Sure did

Did you read the part where they said the series isn't in decline at all, and is better than its ever been before?

Doesnt mean I have to agree sales wise it is people enjoy it good for them I was just saying It was a good read and that I myself planned on not buying anymore unless it changed up in a big way again. Will it?Do not know. Do I care? Not really Plenty of other games I enjoy and I will still have my old Zeldas if I need a Fix.

It's a bit nitpicking but the writer only talked about sales in one paragraph and only one of the arguments he made.

But nonetheless, probably the reason why you may not like the newer games is the fact that I said in my earlier post. The focus for newer Zelda games are quite different than what the older games were focusing on. It's quite understandable this way I think for the mentality for some gamers who prefer the older games, specifically OoT and ALttP.

I agree that probably is a big part of it. It is that way with a few long time running games it seems.

Yeah it kinda sucks especially like recent FF games get bashed even though they are quite great in their own right.

Oh well I guess

Speed reading is not your friend!!

He was actually saying that it was something many people complained about, which is very true, not that he disliked it himself.

He actually goes on to say that MM was his second favorite zelda.

FF is one of thoose series!!! lol  It was the reason I got my PS1. I still love JRPGS but more the "Niche ones"? I guess. I suppose Crash Bandicoot is one of thoose too. But, I think everyone agrees with that one.

Twilight princess was abysmal. I hated everything about it. Majoras mask is the best zelda, the masks give you tons of gameplay styles and the three day cycle allows you to replay quests without starting a new game.
