Wow, I picked up a copy of the new play pikmin before Christmas but have only just had a chance to start it. I was prompted to get it as I love Little King story and people had linked the two games. I can see how it is considered a classic. If you like me missed this game I would recommend taking a look.

A question for those in the know is the 2^nd as good?  I am now on the band wagon for a Wii specific version. I see people talking about a 3^rd game but I get the feeling that it may be a DS game.

I also played pikmin for the first time not to long ago.... to bad i cant get the second one cuz i live in the us, and new play pikmin 2 hasnt come out yet....

If you liked the first one, you're going to LOVE the second one! :3

The second is also a classic. Buy it now, since you are from Hampshire in the United Kingdom like me.

I'd agree with tehsage, I think you'd definitely like the second. Personally, I think it's the better game of the two. It got rid of the annoying 30 day cycle and added in new puzzle elements with the two new pikmin types and added abilities of the old ones.

Yeah, Pikmin is really a great Gamecube game, although a little short. I've been waiting for Nintendo to release their new play contorl Pikmin 2 in the US so I can finally play it but of course Nintendo has to go and crush my dreams by making it Japan only. I suppose I can just pick up the Gamecube version for really cheap..

I have played it for a bit at my friend's house though and it is a lot of fun, better than the first in some ways. The best thing for me is that the timer is gone, and they have a pretty good multiplayer system.

New Play Control Pikmin 2 was released in the PAL regions as well. The game is within five metres away from my Wii.
