I think Edge will give it an 8 most likely... The review will most likely be worder similar to the original Bioshock review.

According to a hypothesis you would not need to know how the game plays like, but should consider other factors which people in the thread have listed (console on which the game is published, hype, 'originality' and others).

Except that in my view EDGE reviews the actual game, not the hype, platform of choice or other such factors. Those are just sad excuses from people that doesn't share the taste of EDGE reviewers. 

I respect your opinion but don't you think that some reviews are way off compared at least to mainstream? FFXIII at 5 while metacritic is in the 80's, MGS4 8, Heavy Rain 7 - just noticing a common trend in under-rating some games, which tend to have some things in common.

I've allways considered 7/10 to be an average game, with nothing amazing. Reviewers give great scores too easily these days but atleast edge goes nuts with the reviewing.

I just think they have an idea of what a modern RPG should be like, both Fable 2 and Mass Effect 2 got 9's.

How the fuck does it matter what they believe a "modern RPG" should be like? Their job is to review the game based on what it is, not based on what THEY want it to be. "I want FFXIII to be like Fable II but it isn't, so I think I'll give it a 5". The very fact that you compare Final Fantasy XIII with Fable and Mass Effect shows that you're on the same boat as them.

@Gab - dude there's a huge difference between sharing the taste of Edge reviewers...and a retarded review. FFXIII deserves higher than 5 based on production, story, music and polish alone. Everyone is entitled to their own opinnion and I respect Edge, but this is a huge attention whore move.

I wasn't comparing them I was simply pointing out they don't hate all RPG's which is what you said.  They are entitled to have a view on what makes a good RPG and score anything low that doesn't make the mark.

Guys EDGE will give God Of War 3 a 5.
I AM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THEY WILL GIVE A 5

they have always given Sony exclusives low scores this won't be an exception.

Negative score ( Minus 2 lol ) wouldn't surprise me. All joking aside, I think 6 or 7. It's EDGE afterall, who think they know better. A 7 from EDGE is a 9. An 8 is a 10.
