.....damn you, arstechnica

*sighs*

*turns it off for VGChartz*

Don't click on the "this guy" link unless you really want to be creeped out. I don't use ad blockers, I love those Evony ads and I got ripped in 2 weeks!

Great read minus this.

Imagine running a restaurant where 40% of the people who came and ate didn't pay. In a way, that's what ad blocking is doing to us.

It's more like running a soup kitchen (Free) and expecting people who ate to pay, even though the content/food is provided at anothers expense and offered to consumers for free. Terrible analogy.

Im going to continue to block these ads. They ALL annoy me no matter what site.

If you get rid of the Evony ad's i'll turn it off, anything but boobs being shoved in my face whenever im around here please.

You know Brett used to just ban the Hell out of people for admitting to ad-blocking on VGChartz?

I don't think that holding the ads hostage is going to do you much good.

I would have no problem with ads if they remained tame. Over the course of time, however, ads have evolved from nice distractions to some of the most annoying parts of the internet. How many times can I be the 1 millionth view of a site and how many times can I win a free Iphone? Those ads are nothing compared to the page jackers- the ones that expand and start blasting their audio.

It's like walking into the aforementioned restaurant and having the staff jump on you and forcing free peanuts down your throat. -.-

When ads learn to stop taking over our pages, stop telling us how to lose 40 pounds in half a minute, and stop telling us that there are 100 local girls that want me right now, I think the need (yes it is a need) for adblocking technology would reduce.

oh and it's nothing personal against any websites we visit- they're just caught in the crossfires of ad vs blockers war.

I don't even know if I have ad block on, I do see ads, but I don't clicl them
