I've been playing my housemates 360 version and it seems fine to me. Doesn't seem anything amazing though, like FFVII was when it came out.

I'll be picking up the PS3 version personally because with owning both systems I don't see the point in buying an inferior version of a game split over multiple disks when both cost the same price.

but you are getting more of the product physically! just... not virtually I guess..... then there is second life too...... brain hurts....

Well its like saying do you want to buy a HD blu-ray film or one lower than HD quality on a few DVDs to play on a cheapo plastic dvd player?

You still get the same film but one plays on a system that doesn't sound like a transformer having a siezure while it reads the disks, you don't have to get up to swap disk over and you get a better quality image and sound. Could you really feel happy sitting there knowing you've paid the same amount for a product, yet if you bought it for the other system it would be of better quality?

That's just my personal reasoning. Owning both consoles with 30+ games on each I find the PS3 the better quality, quieter and better value for money system compared to the poorly made plastic toy that is the 360, so as well as the better quality, uncompressed game on the PS3, you also get to play it on the better quality system.

I have read somewhere that they made the game to have no loadtimes with trick i don 't remember where i saw the article

If you have the option of both then the obvious choice is the PS3. If you only had the 360 to not get it because the quality of the video is better on another machine isn't in my eyes a good enough reason.

PS3 version is also sharper during gameplay, I like sharper visuals personally but if you are not so picky about resolution differences then it doesn't really matter since it's not a game breaker, just not as... sharp I guess.

But the sharper resolution on the PS3 doesn't impact you if you only have a 360.

I will buy Final Fantasy XIII for the XBox 360. I own both systems but achievements and the 360 controller are better and the loading times are faster for the XBox 360 version. The PS3 has slightly better graphics for CGI and better sound quality. No big deal. IMO PS3 is only good for exclusives. I prefer the 360 multi-platform games. Majority of 360 multi-platform titles perform and sell better than their PS3 counterparts.

IMO the two versions of the game are the same game. I do not listen to the fanboy technical comparisons like Digital Foundry and various other BS sites.. So I am not allowed to buy it for my beloved XBox 360? I hate being told which system to buy my games for.

What are your thoughts on this fellow gamers?

I only have 20GB HDD and playing the game from the discs, not installing the discs. Is this a problem? Does installing the game make much of a difference in load times?

I thought you canceled your preorder?

Well I've been going back and fourth on if I am going to pick this up this week. I've been playing fallout so I'm not sure if I want to step away from it to pick up something new.

But your mini preview has me interested in getting it again. I'll just have to squeeze in a little extra time here and there.

Full HD is possible on both systems. And I was impressed with FF13 10 min exclusive video running on the 360 system. I don't think any of these small differences should impact your choice. If you want it on xbox get it on xbox or vice versa. Leave the nit picking to the fan boys. Square Enix themselfs said both were made to be identical.

Funny how no one mentions how the 360 version manages to be more steady with maintaining 30 Frame rates per second.
