^^^Yeah. That's like Bayonetta. It was better to get at least the PS3 version than to not play it at all. Reviews aren't that impressive for FF13 but these games aren't just games. They're events. I ain't missing out for any reason.

This post started off as a nice positive post for XBox 360 owners but I can see it hinging on the brink of yet another flaming battle between fanboys on both sides...
Come on people! We all acknowledge the PS3 has a slight edge but don't exaggerate the difference... the game will be great regardless.
As for me, I'm not getting the game for either system at this point. I'll wait for the price to drop a bit (playing battlefield 2 bad company right now).

And clearly one version has 16 reviews whereas the other has 33 so... Your comparison is unfair and irrelevent. |
Not to mention that the Edge (50) and Eurogamer (80) scores are for both versions but Metacritic only counts them towards the PS3 version. The 80 could bring the 360 down to a the PS3 level of 83 and the Edge score would bring it lower.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

That link kept telling me reasons why the 360 version would be inferior but I just could not see it. I could see a slight difference if I looked REALLY hard but it just wasn't significant. I KNOW the PS3 version will be better but............I dunno. I guess I'll flip a coin in three days. Heads, 360. Tails, PS3. |
how big is your TV?

PS3 version is also sharper during gameplay, I like sharper visuals personally but if you are not so picky about resolution differences then it doesn't really matter since it's not a game breaker, just not as... sharp I guess.
In FF13 (PS3 VERSION) without installing the game there are no load times it is the faster game without install running in perfect quality with not even a second of loading WELL DONE SQUARE-ENIX

actually, no, I don't know what kind of decisions went through SE on this game, but even though it's definitely not a bad game, it could have been a lot better, so, not well done SE, didn't meet my expectations looking at your past productions!
The 360 version in these screen shots looks very good. I do not believe those critics saying how the 360 version looks really crap in comparison to the PS3 version. The PS3 version may have slightly better graphics and better looking CGI for cinematics but it is not game breaking at all.
The 360 version has faster loading times than the PS3 version. The frame rates are more smoother on the 360 version than the PS3 version. 360 lowest FPS is 26, PS3 version lowest FPS is 20.
Achievements are just a number. 1000 points for the completion of the game. PS3 version is only one Platinum trophy if you get all the other coloured trophies in the game.
DLC now PS3 is expected to get exlcusive content for FFXIII. That is a deciding factor.
the 20 FPS close ups are so static that you can't even tell what FPS the thing is going at without a measuring tool so I don't think FPS is even an issue since both drop frames one way or another. I see no reason for people to not pick up the 360 version if they want though, it's their money, they can spend it however they wish to.
I've been playing my housemates 360 version and it seems fine to me. Doesn't seem anything amazing though, like FFVII was when it came out.
I'll be picking up the PS3 version personally because with owning both systems I don't see the point in buying an inferior version of a game split over multiple disks when both cost the same price.
