So like remote play on the PS3? ...

yeah except instead of one device compatability... remote play on any phone with windows and any laptop/PC

so kind of similar... just way better.

Well I don't know if you've ever used the PS3s remote play feature, but it's pretty poor. There's significant latency and data-loss in transmission. So whilst playing light games on your 360 / PC / Phone round the house may be... possible, whilst redundant. It's never really practical at long-distance.

I'm thinking the only real application of this will with apps and whatnot, so you could use the software on your computer on your phone, on a mobile device, but it's not really at present a viable means of gaming.

No, this isn't streaming what's on your computer to the phone and XBox360.  This is a native app to Windows, Windows Mobile and XBox360, all in one convenient project.  It's not OnLive, it's not Remote Play, it's literally the same game running on Windows, Windows Mobile and XBox360.

This is pretty cool.  Not mindblowing, but cool.  Obviously games will be limited to a degree by the least common denominator (Windows Mobile), but it's still a cool concept.

And not to derail the thread, but this is something Sony should have done a LONG time ago with the PSP and PS3.  Play PS1/PSP games on the PS3 and PSP and have the save data sync.  Would be awesome, but sadly, Sony seems shortsighted in instances like this.

well not shortsighted, their just not finished with it yet.

there are game's made for the PSP that work on the PS3 the same game. so it's not unheard of, there is just more window's OS based devices than there are XMB devices, not to mention Sony and other's with open source have to program arround patent infringement type of software. Microsoft's been at open source platform LINUX for year's about patent infringement.

building a Linux Ecosystem take's year's like it did for Microsoft did when building it's Window's Ecosystem.

Well yeah, in my case it's hard to go anywhere outside of residential areas which don't have a free access point though. I tried playing Pixel Junk monsters a bit but in the end it was pretty aweful, it was streaming at a 2-3 second latency from my PS3 so I couldn't even play a tower defense game properly... which is... disapointing.

Works fine in my house though cause the latency is removed... but then as I say redundant as I really should just be playing it on my PS3.

The ability to purchase a single digital copy of 360/PC games, and to have it work on both platforms - with cross-platform saved games and achievements - is something I've wanted for a long time.

That would be so awesome! buy one game for pc/360. Sometimes I just feel like being at the computer, and sometimes the tv.

This is pretty sick, wish I could afford that stuff. =(

Nice...I'm looking forward to these Win7 phones to hit the marketplace.

BTW...why are we talking about streaming on the PS3...this is totally apples and oranges...This is software running native on threee seperate platforms. So, it's like playing a game on your desktop, and then playing the game on your laptop when you leave...what's so hard to understand about that?

That's good, waiting to see more.

                                       That's Gordon Freeman in "Real-Life"

Call me crazy. But the games I play on my PC and my consoles would never run on a phone :P. That and I have an Iphone. So useless to me. Kind of cool I guess.

So we have the "simpsons did it" cries already.
This is more the dreamcast Neo Geo Pocket Color link than remote play. So before anyone accuses MS they aren't copying sony or remote play unless sony copied sega?
