Forums - Gaming Discussion - What genre do you hate?

not hate but rather a dislike, i dislike any and every sports game that comes out

Around the Network

Shooters and sports games (as in FIFA for example, not as in Wii Sports).
Though I'd only hate them if I had to play them for some reason, as it is I simply never buy them.

rpg's

FPS,especially on consoles..

At most the FPS in World War and always the same USA! > all
I want a FPS in Crysis 2 graphics where i can destroy the USA...This would be awesome

And oh yeah... West "RPGs"

Don't 'hate' but

JRPGs - Too linear and leveling up does not make it a role-playing game. Assuming a role and seeing where it takes you is role-playing and only WRPGs do that. Hate all the cut scenes too.

RTS - I just haven't got the time.

Shooters - There's just too much of it nowadays

Puzzles - in general but I did love Puzzle Quest

SIMs - Of any kind. Just no interest.

I absolutely hate realistic racers and sports games.

I also hate what JRPGs have become. It seems they just throw in more and more quirky gameplay systems to make the games more and more unnecessary complex. What was wrong with the phantasy star IV system of basic combat and leveling? And the stories just gets more and more over the top. It was okay in small doses, but now it's just getting ridiculous.

I don't hate fighters like Street fighter and Virtua Fighter, but they don't appeal to me in any way. Since it's a genre that favours competitive play, fighters have my respect. Except the Tekken series. too many bad childhood memories with that one.

I also hate MMORPGs. Not because they play badly or because they have bad concepts, but because the concept is so f*king good and yet there are always something that dissapoints me with them. The role playing is never emphasized. For example, you don't get to chose stuff like a background story or a birthplace or a star sign or age for your character. And the games are not designed so that you walk around exploring the world with your friends trying to find cool stuff or hidden places but instead it's all about leveling. Not leveling up so that you can defeat that monster that keeps you from exploring an area and perhaps find a cool unique item, but leveling up so that you can kill the monster and then level up and kill bigger monsters until you go to PVP or just keep grinding just to waste your life. The rewards could be so much more interresting and the actual role playing could be so much better.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Wouldn't say hate, but I do dislike FPS's on dual analog, therefore Console FPS's. Wii is bearable, but still sucks compared to mouse/keyboard.

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

Really hate: Sports Games other than PES, Fighting games, GTA and its clones (funny thing is that I loved GTA 2)

Moderate Hate: WRPG. The common element of all these is that they have too many glitches, far too many.

Light hate: multiplayer in FPS. But that´s mainly because I suck :P

MMORPG's are what you make them to be. Example: It took me over a year to reach 60 on my first World of Warcraft toon because I just went off exploring doing my own thing. This was how I learned where all the areas  were walking into western plaguelands at level 17 did not go so well though. Which in time A couple other people I met online would join me in my sploring. We would try to jump off places to get ontop of other buildings and stuff too.

FPS, too much of them and no innovation in a lot them.
