I read the thread title, then I laughed my ass off.

Seems unlikely to me.  The PS3 install base is smaller than the PS2s and I'm not sure how God 3 will be able to double the sales of the last game, which is what it needs to do in order to sell more than gears 2.  On top of that, the sales of God are decreasing, not increasing.  Furthermore, PS2 series that comes to PS3 tend to sell worse than their PS2 version.  I'm looking at Ratchet, Tekken, Metal Gear and Devil May Cry right now, which are the only ones I can think of, and they both fit the bill.

It's not impossible, but the data I've seen makes me think Gears 2 will have a higher LTD.

MGS4 outsold MGS3 and still selling

DMC & Tekken are multiplatform titles so sales are divided between 2 consoles

Bigger install base doesn't always means better sales
