the reason no one buys this is:

- 20 million Wii owners already own Mario Kart Wii
- The game is too "kiddy" for PS360 owners

Well as I said in my post.  If you "Have" Mario Kart wii you should get this game.  It is basically Mario Kart 2 without the blue shell and better graphics

Better looking?  From my understanding...

Mario Kart = solid 60 fps with heavy rim lighting/bloom/etc

Sonic Racing = occasional 30 fps with few effects

... Sumo certainly makes pleasing looking Wii games, but EAD makes the BEST looking Wii games.

Yes, it is a better looking game.  I have played them both, and S&SASR looks better IMO.  You can have yours, and I will have mine.

You know what the funny thing is, it is compared to MKW by every reviewer.  Yet it probably isn't going to hit the million mark in sales, while many reviewers say it is as good a MKW.

Don't bash a game you probably haven't played yet.  Youtube video's do this game no justice!

I'm just arguing the technical merits here.  Mario Kart is just more impressive when you really start to factor everything in (framerate, lighting, etc).  And honestly, framerate is the MOST important visual aspect in a racer imo.

I did play the 360 demo, but the framerate was so bad it was borderline unplayable imo.  I'll probably pick up the Wii version eventually, as it's framerate is actually supposed to be better and I think it'll have a more numerous online community (thanks to the millions of Mario Karters on Wii).

You have very high framerate standards. the frame rate goes up and down on the 360 version but I doubt it ever goes below 30. There are really smooth sections and sections which are adequate. It never chugs...

Bought it. Played It .Loved It. IF you hate it then you prolly hate every kart game out there.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

I actually like Sonic Kart more than Mario Kart as well. It has a lot of replay value and playing online is a blast.

The frame rate does feel a little sluggish. Especially when you play split screen. It doesn't ruin the experience but its the biggest problem for me.

It ceilings at 30, and drops down to 20 even it seems like.  Really, it's awful, at least in the demo... maybe the retail product ironed it out?  Have you HDD installed or are you running off disc?  That can matter too I've found with 360 games...

I can handle 30 fps racers, but they have to be consistent.  Racers, fighters and fps are really the 3 genres that framerate counts most imo.

I got retail copy on the hard drive...but I don't know. Like I see the parts where the frame rate drops but its not game breaking since its not a precision based racer.

Then there are parts on courses where frame rate just jumps up and the game looks so smooth...that looks higher than 30 fps to me.

I doubt it goes as low as 20 frames...that would be unplayable in my opinion. Xbox360 needs an app which measures frame rate...lol

Game rocks. Playing it on the 360... The little missions are awesome and track design is stellar.

24 freekin tracks.

Mario Kart is slightly better but damn...Mario Kart has been out for 2 years now. Time to move on people, play something else.

Agreed!

Also for some reason it's hilarious to me to see random Sega characters get their own kart game.

A really fun kart racer. Played the 360 demo and enjoyed it. Picked it up for Wii and I'm really liking it. It will make a nice change of pace when I'm looking for a racer.

PC: AMD Athlon II Quadcore 635 (OC to 4.0ghz) , ATI Radeon 5770 1GB (x2)

MacBook Pro C2D 2.8ghz, 9600m GT 512 iMac: C2D 2.0, X2600XT 256

Check the the Sonic & Sega all stars racing game forum, I already was trying to let people try out the game. Seriously after playing the demo it is very hard to not buy this game....And that is what I did the first day it released...And surprised Disolitude already has it =p.

I tested the demo out.  Its a good game, actually a lot of fun.  However it was release at a bad time. So many good game release around the same time as this game..   I rather spend my money buying Bad Company 2, Heavy Rain, GOW 3, RE 5 Gold.
