Forums - Gaming Discussion - Killzone 2 Has 72% More Head Polygon Count than Halo: Reach

From the footage i've seen Halo Reach looks pretty damn good just as Killzone 2 does. If Halo Reach just envolves a lil bit in environment detail it'll get a serious contender for Killzone 2 graphics wise. Gameplay wise Killzone 2 probably won't have a chance against Halo Reach.

Maybe in your opinion. I found Halo 3 and Killzone 2 just to be as fun as each other while playing. Although Halo seemed more like a game that you had to play splitscreen for me.

This is ridiculous.

It's comparing two games with two completely different design approaches.

Killzone 2 was built to look graphically stunning. They spent years working on an engine that could live up to the lofty visuals set down by the 05' trailer. They succeded in creating one of, if not the best looking game on any console ever. Though with the cost of co-op/splitscreen remaining absent.

Halo: Reach; providing it follows the pattern of it's predecessors, will be built not as a graphical showcase, but will have it's engine designed around getting large open areas and tons of AI on-screen with splitscreen co-op.

Both games would look entirely different if they adopted the approach of the other.

It matters because selnor keeps saying halo reach is the most technicle game ever released by mankind.

You mean Forza 3...I mean Lost Planet 2 before it went multiplat.....I mean Splinter Cell: Conviction....I mean Gears 2.

I just confused myself

Killzone 2 released a year ago.

Halo Reach isn't releasing for a long time.

That is all.

7 months is a long time? News to me.

OT: Are those the final Polygon counts for Halo: Reach?

It is when that 7 months can be used to up the graphics.

Plus, something else to note -

Halo Reach has split screen co-op. Killzone 2 doesn't.

That's why the 360 hasn't released a game that looks better than the first Uncharted right?

Coming from someone who has an obvious Sony bias. Yes, the 360 has released several better looking games than Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

A lot of them are on both PS3 and 360. And then there is Gears 2 and Mass Effect 2. Hell, you could even add in Forza 3.

I agree that Gears 2 looks better than Uncharted DF, though the difference is not that big and I can accept the argument either way. I haven't seen ME2 on my big screen yet to make the comparison so I'll take your word for it, I'll disagree about Forza 3 looking better than Uncharted DF. I'd like to know what lots of games that are both on PS3 and 360 looks better than Uncharted DF though because I can't think of any.

the smartest post in this flamebait-thread

KZ2 is pretty much a great looking pipe you run through.

H:R will propably look more open with less details. I doubt it's gonna look much better than gears 2.

Both have great HD-backgrounds though, from what I've seen.

We already knew PS3 is more powerful than the 360. WHO GIVES A FUCK?

Offline Multiplayer + Co-op > the best fucking graphical game in the fucking world

72? Really? I'm disappointed then... I thought it was 73.

Killzone 2 fails.
