What crow? I see no crow here. They have a massive digital distribution network with market dominance in the PC space. Anything they earn on the PS3 would be like extra sprinkles on their coffee in terms of overall revenue.

So for the past however many years they've been nothing but a-holes to Sony and the PS3 and now they're coming out and talking like they're best buds all of a sudden? Screw you, Valve. Use a new goddamned engine for once.

It would be interesting if they can create a mod community on the PS3 for future games they develop for it.

If it's really huge and seasoned with tons of lard, butter and fried onions, Gabe Newell will merrily eat it and ask for more. 

Just be careful, he could chomp your hand too when you  serve him. 

I'm sure they could and I'm sure Sony would gladly allow it. It would have been the choice to make the most sense for Valves style. They chose the easy route.
