Legend11 said: LOL at some of the responses in this thread. Gabe Newell probably doesn't give a f*ck about the PS3 and the only reason a writer at Valve even had this response was to shut people up. You want to look at companies that messed up on the PS3 look at Free Radical which no longer even exists after their PS3 exclusive Haze or all the other developers that took at bath on the PS3. |

Also, do you know how unprofessional it would sound if they did this just to shut people up? If that was their intention, they would've left it off from when Gabe Newell said sorry to PS3 owners. Why continue to talk about the subject?

Well they were asked about it in the interview this thread is based on and basically said they might develop for it in the future. They give the same kind of response when asked about developing for the Wii as well.
Also for those saying Valve is eating crow as if them talking about PS3 development is something new, they've been doing that for years. Like in this interview:

Lombardi Says Valve Reevaluating PS3, Wii Development
Valve marketing director believes they "have to take [these platforms] seriously."
By Kyle Stallock, 10/07/2008
"Speaking to CVG (via Kotaku), Valve's Doug Lombardi noted that the recent success of the PlayStation 3 has caused the developer to "reevaluate that for what it is." He continued "So whether or not you like developing for that platform, if they've got millions of people connected to that platform and buying their games you have to take it seriously."
His comments are sure to put a smile on anyone's face who primarily plays games on the PS3 and has been following the rollercoaster news ride about how Left 4 Dead will not appear on Sony's console."
