Now sensible people wouldnt characterize JRPG's as anything anywhere near an rpg but just for namesake ill discuss it in this thread....

Now all I hear when ever a good WRPG comes out is how its saving the RPG genre , but what I dont get is why and when did it need saving? Games like Balders gate ,Fable, Mass Effect , Elderscrolls , Fallout all emcompass what is right and true in the rpg genre and define it ,and in all honesty, I cant think of one bad wrpg to come out this gen other than Two worlds or that messiah game.

Now on the JRPG side of things there have been a plethora of mediocre to average games coming from left and right its become a joke....the genre hasnt evolved at all from the SNES days (yea I know that they are 3d now smartass) while WRPG are pushing the envelope as what it truly means to roleplay.

In essence I believe that these two genres should be far apart from one another as JRPG's  is severely ruining the rpg name and its a disgrace that WRPG's have to even be associated with them as WRPG's are the only true genre that is evolving and is also an rpg by definition .

So suggestions are up on the poll above so get cracking in voting or come up with your own thing to call the now deceased JRPG genre.

But I suggest you to play Lost Odyssey before calling JRPG mediocre this gen.

It could be argued that contemporary WRPGs are nothing more than ACTION games with RPG elements. (citing your examples of Fallout,Mass Effect,Fable etc.)

Just because a plot is linear doesn't disqualify it as an RPG.

Hahahaha, I will respect your opinion, but for me, WRPGs are ruining the genre... it is all opinion :P. Personally, I have never enjoyed the WRPG experience.

Also, none of the games announced for 360 this year can hold a flame to uncharted 2 or killzone 2. Now that god of war 3 makes those 2 games look last generation, you can guess what it does to 360 exclusives."

A quick look into your posting history brought me this.......dont worry though as im not going to report it. 

JRPG's are the bread and butter of RPG's imo.

It's those that deviate to far from it that gets irritating if some of you are able to catch that hint...
