I reckon this is a stunt by MS.
Get everyone interested in the story by making themselves the focus of hate and the bad guys in the story then show everyone the truth so people feel bad for how they responded and applaud MS for the initial action that they were criticised for.
That way they look good and get the sympathy vote in the mean time make everyone think real villain of the story is headed to their rivals therefore creating a reason to avoid them.

Someone could easily hack into his computer and get it from there, when there is this much focus on yourself it brings the wrong kind of attention.

His personla info was posted online, whoever got that info could have got the videos too.

There are any number of ways it could have found its way online.  Perhaps he wanted to show it to a friend and the friend wanted to be a dick (or the friend knew he was wrong) and posted it.  Who knows.

I really doubt it was an inside viral marketing thing since the guy has other videos of him actually using mods well before the event.  Viral marketing agencies can be thorough but I doubt they would be that thorough.

And in the end, the hope is the world ends up better off. Not sure one should count on it though.
