Forums - Sony Discussion - no need for a PS4?

So I was in gamestop and overheard a conversation between a worker and a customer saying that the ps3 is a more powerful system than the 360 and the wii. Another statement made was that aside from some minor software updates here and there sony really doesn't need a ps4 beause the ps3 is pretty much perfect. What do you guys think? Do you agree?

Seems accurate to me, at least for another five years. The PS3's full potential has not yet been realized, when it does, they should come out with a stronger system.

I once had a fanboy on N4G tell me that the PS3 was doing stuff that couldn't be done for another 2 gens.

in about 4 or 5 years there'll be a PS4

It is a very solid machine, wouldn't MS and Nintendo be playing catch up in terms of hardware performance?

are you sure that there will be a ps4? Can you say that for certain?

PS3 is a great piece of hardware, honestly probably the best built out of the big 3 but to say that next gen they'll just go up against MS and Nintendos next systems with just the PS3 would be pretty dumb. Who would buy a PS3 over new hardware? The successor to the 360 will without a doubt have better power and graphics than the current PS3 and and I suspect Nintendos next will be able to at least match it. Within the next 4 to 5 years we will def. see the successor of the PS3
