Either way the graphics on this game are pretty weak on either console so it doesn't really matter.

Watch everyone ignore this.

'cause it's wrong.

Ye you seem unbiased.

No really, its no title to get if you're out for a visual gem.

Are you nuts? Dude...I have owned this game for over a month now and it is easily the best looking JRPG ever. The cutscenes are by far the best looking I've ever seen but those are CGI and pre-rendered so I guess it wouldn't be interesting to you. The game is actually extremely beautiful graphically.

Best CGI footage on anyything in the world imo. In-Game is is still extremely beautiful. Will be an experience i'm sure!

Completely 100% agreed. Every moment of it is jaw dropping. The in-game looks fucking phenomenal too. I'd rate it easily as one of the top 5 console games out.

If this graphics comparison is indeed true. A huge gap between the PS3 version and 360 version of FFXIII. Action must be taken by 360 gamers.

I call on my fellow 360 fans to Boycott Square Enix now. Releasing a gimped version of FFXIII onto the 360. The games graphics looked crippled for the 360, seriously lacking in detail. I would not want to imagine how the game play would be like assuming it will have issues as well. Game reviewers will have a field day. What the hell were Square Enix thinking?

Square Enix quality of games have been very ordinary over the last few years and that trend is continuing with FFXIII.

I am very upset with this latest revelation. 360 owners have the right to be disappointed and they should boycott Square Enix. They gave us Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery(both crap games with issues) and now a gimped version of FFXIII.

No one can honestly deny that there are no differences... Even if you had really bad eyes you could see the differences. It's kinda obvious when compared.

Very bad form from Square Enix. 360 owners deserve much better.  Top screenshot = low res, grainy, blurry version of FFXIII. Microsoft gave you lots of money to help you out. You repay us with this performance.

repay you with what? 95% of mutliplats are beter on the 360

for people buying this version i wouldn't worry too much about graphics but i would be concerned about possible frame rate drops. graphics won't really ruin gameplay however frame rate will

Square Enix Discusses Middleware Benefits and Challenges
Developer looks back frankly on Last Remnant, discusses challenges of using middleware engines for their games.
By Kat Bailey, 02/17/2010

It's no secret that Square Enix's Last Remnant suffered major technical problems. It was the developer's first Xbox 360 game, and the first time they attempted to use the Unreal Engine. The results weren't always pretty, as Square Enix chief technology officer Julien Merceron readily admitted in an interview with Gamasutra.

"One of the traps with middleware is that some game teams believe that, because they got this middleware, maybe they need less programmers on their team, or maybe they don't need that many skilled programmers."

"And it's true -- how many talented physics programmers are there out there? I don't think that you could find three to four extremely talented physics programmers per team. For example, let's say you have like 30 game development teams; if you're looking to find two or three extremely talented physics programmers for each of your teams, that's going to be extremely difficult."

Merceron noted that one obstacle when it comes to utilizing middleware is that problems occasionally come up that no one is equipped to solve. However, he added that, "I think also it is important to highlight that there will be a time I think it won't be possible anymore to work without middleware because of time, talent, and cost reasons. So, as a conclusion, I think a balanced approach is needed."

Will more Square Enix games be utilizing middleware in the future? With the extraordinary time and expense that went into Final Fantasy XIII, it wouldn't be surprising to see them try some alternative approaches to development. We'll see what happens once its finally on the market on March 9.

it seem's there may be some challenges at SE an that may be a reason why something like this happened to the xbox360 ver. of the game IF it indeed happened.
if these are indeed the end result's , than they are not that bad in my Opinion there is some thing's that look better in the PS3 but in my opinion that may not take away from the over all game playing experience of FFXIII for the xbox360. Like other's have stated frame rate, screen tearing are more important instead of the graphic's when the contrast of the graphic's are not that far apart over all.

I AM BOLO

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

But PS3 owners getting a gimped Bayonetta was "ok" right?
