There is a lot of negative and reactive press from either Sony or the Sony side this week...

First, the GT5 comments.

Then, Sony saying they are better for third parties.

Then, the OP above.

Then, Sony saying Microsoft has few first party studios.

It sounds pretty deparate to me... Why aren't they talking up all the great games they have this year and talking about all the third party support they have? Seems they are only interested in trying to sling mud after last week's X10.

Companies in a strong position ignore their competion and focus on their offerings. Companies that know they are not in a strong position focus on the competition's perceived shortcomings.

Well, their main respone to X10 was the GoW III trailer, and I think the fact that Sony will have published MAG, Heavy Rain and GoW III within the first quarter. And when do execs talk anything reasonable

better for third parties, the OP and first few party studios are all from the same dude, from the same interview.

 

That's like saying "omg, you're against the PS3 because you said "yes" and "it" and "sucks"." (just saying, not saying you did :p)

 

Besides, aside from the few points those comments sometimes make (on either side, be it sony or ms), they ALWAYS (try to) tackle each other. This is their way of deflecting attention away from X10 (like the GoWIII-trailer for example, which is a better move). It's the same thing as all the "look at me"-moves Greenberg pulls and all the "omg, everyone sucks"-statements that Turn 10 produced. (although the latter two are in higher numbers)
