Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why do you like Smash brothers?

Nintnendo's franchises unite and fight. plus i like the action.

I like how the game is more about timing and using the right moves at the right time as opposed to a lot of games where it is learning combos and hope you block at the right time. I'm not saying that those other games don't take skill to play, but I think SSBB is lot less of a button masher than those games are (something people who are not good at the game doesn't understand).

Because of the competitive community.

Smash tournaments are awesome.

Brawl FC: 0473 - 7465 - 0612

Multiplayer of course, adds loads of replay value.
I would like a bigger character roster.

There is no Knowledge that is not Power

What would I add to make it better?

A working online.

Yea, I got all fired up to try SSBB online after writing my last post.  Found out that the lag issue never got resolved and even though both myself and the other guy has really fast connections, it still lags.  That is unplayable.

I really don't understand it.  Nintendo can get Mario Kart to work...

It's the only game I've played continuously (a few times per week) since it first came out in 1999. Both times a new game has come out (SSBM and SSBB) I've just switched to playing the new one, intensely for a few weeks unlocking stuff then back to a few times a week.

No other game has managed that for me. Sometimes I've gone 2-3 years without playing a Mario game, much as I love them.

One of the very best multiplayer games around
Pretty much a genre unto itself
Beautifully crafted tribute to all things Nintendo
As replayable as a game can be (multiplayer wise)
The right mix of skill and zany fun - you can get out what you want from it
Footballs!
Doing farore's wind tight into someone with the hammer and sending them helplessly falling to their doom

That about sums it up for me

Accessible controls so you can play against your noob friend/family and they have at least a chance of winning. Huge depth, ever after years of playing I'm still refining my style.
Not only a great variety of characters but each character is totally unique (with a few semi-clones).
It's fun, pure fun.
You can tailor it. Don't like an item? Leave it out. Don't care for some levels? Leave them out.

I'd like customizable Miis added.
