Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Blaster Master Wiiware

So I downloaded and started playing this game. Great updates over the original graphically. But they definitely didnt take out the "OMG WTF why is this so hard??" aspect out. I maxed ALL my weapons, and I still couldnt beat the Crab boss (1st boss)

At least now they have save points.

Ok, I figured it out. I forgot that Blaster Master bosses require memorizing specific patterns. Headed to 3rd boss now. Loving this game! Thank God for save points, the original didnt have any.

Started a second game and am in Area 2. The game is only going to get harder - you'll notice a difficulty spike in Area 4 and it will culminate in Area 5.

should I get this or the VC version? I never played this game, so which one is recommended?

They're two different games. I'd get the original on VC if you've never played it before...unless you hate brutal difficulty and limited continues in old school games. Overdrive has a lot of modern conveniences like save points and a map...but I think some of the gate areas and bosses are harder than BM's.

I'd go with the Wiiware version. It just is easier on the eyes overall and it maintains the same experience from the original, but with the abilities Claude mentioned, like saving and a map.
