Open world or Linear?

Open world 16 20.78%

A little of both 35 45.45%

Linear world 16 20.78%

I don't like video games 10 12.99%

Total:77

I like a little of both...

You have to consider Open world offers more replayability, bigger levels, usually longer singleplayer campain, uses a lot of the same rooms dungens etc..

Linear games usually have a better story. more detailed cutscenes, usually better graphics, online is usually more polished...

Like I said, I like the ability to acomplish a task, then go into a linear mode where I have to do something, then repeat with innovation...what's your take on this?

I like Linear games more than Open World for the better stories, graphics, and cutscenes. If I want to explore and more replay value, I'll just play an MMORPG.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

Depends. If I'm interested in a sweeping, well-paced epic (like Gears, Uncharted, Halo, etc) I'll play something like that.

But I also sometimes want a 'do what you want, choose your destiny' type of thing along the lines of Mass Effect or Grand Theft Auto.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Open world all the way, there's no contest.

Only in extreme cases will I bother to play a linear game, when it's a superb game all around and sort of has to be experienced (Uncharted, Dragon Age).

Both are good when done right.

actaully im gonna change my answer and go with both...a game like FF12 or WKC that offer huge explorable worlds but are still linaer in story design are my idea worlds

I like both equally.

Love the cinematic feel when playing linear games and I like the freedom when playing open world games.

Currently playing the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 again :) (Took me about 24 hours to search, install and especially test a bunch of mods. (19 mods to be exact))

i depends i like to be able to explore a game yet have a epic liner story ie.. batman AA bioshock or darksiders
