PC gaming is still occuring, but piracy is very common practice. The only game that I heard do solid sales on PC was Dragon Age.

Sims 3 did over 4.5M in less than 9 months.

Okay, I admit that I was wrong. *runs and hides* I normally play rpgs, srpgs, tps, and some action games.

Left 4 Dead would like to have a word with you.

I have not heard the sales comparison verus the numbers sold on the xbox. So has Left4Dead sold more on PC than on the xbox? Dragon Age top selling platform is the PC (most likely due to the mod tools imho). I should have more clear that I was talking about the leading platform for a major game being the PC.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it did. It is a Valve game after all, and everybody who is informed on PC gaming knows where Valve's main fanbase is at.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Only? The Sims franchise only announced 100 million sales about a year ago, and 125 million a few days ago, but only 2 expansion pack and The Sims 3 were released in between.  (and single eps rarely sell over a million)

People have been saying PC gaming has been dying for years. It never been 'dying'. It just been going through stages, like console and handheld gaming as well. Back in the mid 90s, it was in a decline. And then around the turn of the century it saw an upswing with games like Diablo II, StarCraft, Half-Life, Fallout, Age of Empires II, Morrowind, etc.

Recently, people have just been touting the same 'gloom and doom' scenario for the PC because they think it hasn't been getting as many good games as Consoles. But if you look around, its still getting good games.  Frankly, some of the best games available for consoles such as XBOX 360 and PS3 are actually games made for PC, but ported to consoles.  And don't forget, the PC has some amazing games coming up soon, like Diablo III and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Not saying it will happen, but I wouldnt be surprised if D3 was on consoles. It wouldn't be too hard to turn it into a console game (unlike SC). And MMOs are releasing more and more on consoles as well. While I think shooters and MMOs are typically better on PC, that doesn't mean that publishers will view it the same way.

Every generation consoles become more and more specialized PCs. Before long, there won't be a distinction.

I believe both the developers for Diablo III and Star Wars: The Old Republic have stated the games are only going to be for PC.  I know 100% that BioWare made a statemet that STar Wars: The Old Republic was only going to be for PC.  As for Diablo III, I don't see them putting it on consoles, simply because they're coming out with a 'new form of Battle.net' and most likely want to keep it focused on PC.  Probably to combat piracy and hacking.  Trying to put games on consoles would just complicate coding and hacking prevention efforts.  Since Diablo III is probably going to sell anywhere from 6-15 million easy on just PC, I don't think they are worried about moving to consoles.

Plus, they've already announced Diablo III, like Starcraft II, is going to have multiple expansion packs.  Kind of hard to do for consoles (though not impossible).
